I initially trusted this organization to help during a difficult time but quickly realized I was…read morewrong. Jenny reached out after a friend contacted her on my behalf, as I was struggling with neck and back injuries, domestic issues, and housing instability. She encouraged me to move to Morris County, promising to raise funds to help secure housing. Jenny posted on her personal Facebook asking for donations, and my friends contributed enough to cover my hotel stay. However, she later claimed there weren't enough funds donated, even though we had receipts. When OTA, an organization she claimed to work with, requested receipts from Project Kind, they confirmed they had no affiliation with her. Jenny refused to provide proof, became defensive, and said, "That goes to my car and car insurance. I am not sharing my financial information with OTA." I managed to find a room to rent but fell behind on $750 in back rent. The homeowner, a single mother of three, reached out to Jenny and Kathy from Project Kind for solutions. Instead of helping me stay housed, they held a meeting at the home that same afternoon and decided it would be best to move me into a hotel for four days. They cut off all contact that day, leaving both me and the homeowner confused, hurt, and struggling. When a non-profit refuses to provide documentation requested by the state, it raises serious red flags. If donations are truly being used as claimed, there should be no issue providing proof. From my experience, the videos posted on their social media are not entirely truthful. After reporting my experience to the county and other organizations, I learned others have raised similar concerns. Based on my experience, funds are being misused, and vulnerable people are being lied to or left in worse situations--confused, scared, and betrayed.
