Asked to cover hole left in wall and he just covered the hole with a cabinet.. Asked to be paid before job was done, then some problems came afterward as far as finishing the work. The attention to detail, the quality of the work- it is unbeatable. They put in a new French drain system and properly sealed the entire basement, creating additional living space for our teen girls.They replaced all the uneven floors and made the entire home not only much more functional- but breathtakingly gorgeous. The problem is then the left the house unfinished, never completing it. Six months later- their electrical work caused a house fire. Repeated attempts to rectify the issues failed until the owner of LaVillaLux just stopped talking to us altogether. Not the best way to do business. Really sad at the outcome.

All of his jobs have problems: 1 - Floor: He didn't leave any gap (1/4 inch for expansion is standard) from the walls. There was a water leak which I notified him about, he finished the job and didn't check. I found there was still water everywhere after a week... Good thing I decided to redo the floor. 2 - Stairs: I was going to redo the stairs later anyway since the finish wasn't as nice as I hoped. After using it for a day; I almost tripped on the nose trim. It was a loose and I found most of them were loose and poorly finished. 3 - Walls: I was actually okay with this job and he was supposed to prep the wall for painting. After 3 coats of paint, the wall looks ugly due to poor or no prepping... I also paid him to build a fence, he acted like he was confident but he clearly lacked tools and knowledge. It was installed way too high and I told him it wasn't going to pass the permit inspection. He swore up and down this was okay and it failed... I still paid him and asked him to take the fence down but he ghosted me.
