This is my 3rd experience with creating a website. My1st experience was trying to DIY. Used wix and tried to finger it out by using their templates. Well, the finished product did not come out so pretty. As a matter of fact, it looked extremely amateur. I was embarrassed to show my friends. 2nd experiense was a little better. I had a friend built something for me. He pretty much threw a bunch of stuff together that I wanted. It did not look amateur, but it definitely lacked creativity and design behind it. Not to mention I had to constantly bug by friend to finish the project and called him multiple times after to make changes. He was annoyed at me no doubt, and I'm sure that was the last time he wanted to build a website for a friend. 3rd times a charm! I finally decided to hire a professional. I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Ian to do this project for me. even though he lives in NY and I'm in San Francisco, we communicated through phone and google hangouts. Because I'm a DIY guy by nature, I hired Ian for a "Squarespace Walkthrough". He walked me through how to build a complete website on Squarespace, in a day. It was like being led through what I needed to know without having to do all the nitty gritty research. Esp the do's and don'ts. I have 2 kids, so do not want to waste time on experimenting and making mistakes that can be easily avoided. Ian was very kind and patient with not only explaining, but assisted me in designing and almost became a consultant in a way. Im sure that wasnt his intention, but he definitely cared about my website. He didnt just want me to have my website built and call it a day, he wanted it to be a success and fulfill its purpose. I believe this is whats called a "Walkthrough". Very important. I felt very supported in all fronts. Unlike my 2 previous experiences, I did not feel lost, or indebted to a friend. Ian is as good as it gets! Ian Q Design just delivered our new website and it is wonderful! Before Ian we were using another local design firm that provided us with a WordPress offering that was very cumbersome. Although I was supposed to be the website administrator there was very little I was allowed to do on my own. Even the simplest of changes could take days to get done. Our new site is sophisticated, stream line and will promote our company in the way that we deserve to be represented. Not to mention that the backend is so simple to navigate that I am able to do everything our firm needs done immediately. Ian was kind/smart enough to design a preview site that once was shown to my management made it a no-brainer to contract with Ian Q Design. I recently hired Ian Q Design to create artwork to use as a logo and a medallion image to be printed on my business shirts. I had a clear idea what I wanted and Ian both carefully provided what I had asked for, and also added some other options and details that I had not considered that made the design even better. Ian agreed to come to Liberty State Park to hide out and shoot engagement photos when I proposed to my fiancé. We were picnicking in the park and had lower Manhattan and the river as the back drop. Coordinating with Ian was really easy leading up to the day and the day of. Throughout the process he asked all the right questions to ensure he captured everything I wanted in the exciting moment as well as what I didn't want. He used different angles and apertures and awesome ways of playing with light to deliver photos we absolutely love. He even hung out after the proposal to get all the portraits we wanted.
