She was so "optimistic" because we were not only the first applicants who offered a two year lease hold, but professionally we checked all of the boxes--except one: we are gay. We were denied the property because suddenly (during a day that this area received 8 inches of snow) they had recd another application for 2 years at asking. We matched their offer, and agreed to top any amount this (non existent/ohantom applicant) were alleged to have offered--but she refused to return phone calls after that. BTW, despite her representation about the other offer, I (and others on our behalf) contacted the agency about the property, who advised each of us that no applications were in, and the property is open and available for a showing. it's still available, btw. Bigot? Hateful homophobe? When she made a comment to us about how people in "the neighborhood" were of a "certain standard we should have run for the hills. She also admitted that she preferred not to lease homes to families with children. Please watch out for this "winner" Also, when we left ( it before) she made us sign a document which said that any communication we may have had during the showing, despite any expectations of privacy, could have been taped and recorded for any purposes.
