We came a little earlier than check-in but we were still able to get to our room. Lucky we were able to get a room with a window! Complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious! I came up with a list of Swedish foods that I wanted to try and most were present there at the breakfast spread. Especially the meatballs! We were only in Sweden for one day so this came to be very helpful. We booked through United and for one night it was ~$115. We had a really restful sleep and were not bothered by any noise from other rooms. Our only downside was that we did feel very cold at night and that we couldn't regulate the heat.

Lol) It's a shopper's paradise by day and a clubber's dream by night. So, you know what that means? Bring earplugs! Although I'll have to say that staying on the 3rd floor with our room facing the street, the sound proofing in the room was definitely better than our hotel at the train station in Copenhagen. Did you know that its cheaper to stay in certain areas of Stockholm over the weekend than on weekdays?! We wouldn't have known this if not for my friend's travel agent. Our room rate from Friday to Sunday came to an average of $160/night, which includes a delicious breakfast buffet! In the neighborhood of Stureplan, this is unreal. The metro is a 7 min walk away, Humlegarden park is directly across the street and one of the world's best indoor markets, Ostermalm Saluhall is nearby too. Will definitely stay here again next time.

First of all - you won't find a friendlier staff anywhere !! From the time I walked in to the time I left -everyone was just great! The front desk was so helpful-no matter what my request they were pleasant and helpful. The dining room staff was also terrific making sure that I knew what was being served to taking the time to tell me when the food was ready . I had reserved one of the suites on the 6th floor. This room was spacious and comfortable with even a small deck off the back. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a small refrigerator, in room coffee and internet service (you must get a code daily from the front desk) The bathroom was clean, functional and had great water pressure. For you Americans, if you want a wash cloth you will need to being one from home for as American as this place feels -there still are no wash cloths. This room had plenty of closet space with a separate sitting area and functional work space although the suites are about twice the size of a normal room. And if climbing stairs is not your favorite thing- know that there is a small elevator. The best thing though ?? Your room rate includes a full breakfast, afternoon coffee and snacks and a full dinner each evening! I thought they had made a mistake but it was true. Free breakfast AND dinner. And I'm talking a huge spread! For breakfast there is fresh squeezed orange juice, a variety of fresh rolls and bread,cereals, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausages and fresh fruit and veggies. And coffee machines that will make you your favorite coffees and teas. And for dinner each day you just check the menu from lasagne, to BBQ chicken to chefs selection. Plenty of food choices for who ever is in your group! There is no air conditioning but the windows open so you are able to get a good breeze. All in all a great hotel. Oh- and if your cab driver seems confused as to where this place is- mention Clarion hotel. The Clarion sign is much more legible than the Hotel Wellington sign. Sign up for the free membership and get a discounted rate. Not a big discount but every bit helps. The check-in staff were very nice and friendly. I also received 20kr to use at the hotel bar or Panza when I checked in. We chose to go to Panza for dessert - raspberry gelato and blueberry cannoli (pretty close to a mini size by U.S. standards) plus tea and Italian soda. Of course we ended up paying more but these desserts were well worth it and I'd go there again. The in-house spa downstairs was fully booked when we tried to get walk-in service so I recommend you make a reservation if you have time. The nightly rate was about $125 for 2 people in January. The room had (2) separate double beds, which is not typical of the city and the room was very spacious - a double, large. You need to give an accurate number of guests because the cost probably includes the breakfast buffet. And, the buffet is delicious with so many options that included brown beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage; oatmeal bar; yogurt bar; European style pancakes (a crepe by U.S. standards) with toppings; salami, smoked ham (particularly good), and other cold cuts, pate, pickled herring; apple and orange juice with option to add soda water; gluten-free foods; breads galore with all sort of marmalades. If you're considering both and not sure which to choose, I would definitely go with the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel, which for our stay was only $200 more in total. The lobby was spotless and bright, and our room was clean, well maintained, and felt airy and comfortable. Check in was simple and our room service was incredibly prompt during our stay - it was easy to order veggies, fries, or fruit for several evenings when I just didn't want to go out to eat. I do wish the pantry downstairs was better stocked with plain fruit versus fruit with spices or a vending machine so you could purchase drinks after the coffee shop closes. Staying here was also a neat exposure to Swedish design in that the sink had a button to press to be turned on that could also be twisted for temperature changes, and the lights had to be twisted instead of flipped to be turned on. While we didn't mind it, I'm not sure how accessible it is as my guess would be that it's difficult for those with dexterity issues, and we also found the incredibly high tub another questionable but interesting design choice. The room came with a desk, a chair, and some blackout shades, which when there's only five hours of darkness, almost felt like a requirement here and they also had a mini bar with drinks and snacks to choose from. Another positive for the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel is that while it's not as close to the airport, it was very centrally located to most of the highlights of Stockholm, which made is very walkable and easy to commute to and from. We did run into a taxi scam several times, where a taxi driver would accept the ride, and the car that showed up had a different license plate and the driver would try to have us take the ride off the app, so I'd order Uber Black or XL for any of your rides or book it directly with the hotel, as they'll be private drivers and not the taxis you're pared with for Uber Comfort or Priority. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely recommend them.

I would recommend it to most travelers who aren't looking for something more luxury or boutique. It actually does feel almost kind of boutique. The design of place has a usually Swedish austere-ness to it but also feels a bit placed in its own time. It's not modern but it's not dated either. The lobby has warm reds and browns as primary colors but with a lot of light secondaries so it feels unique. The rooms are standard for this class of hotel but again with all kinds of touches that remind you that you are in a design-forward country. The bed headboard is quite tasteful, the coffee machine isn't smeg but it could be with its appearance, and a small speaker system looks equal parts vintage and modern. The staff are very pleasant, the location is very convenient, and the price isn't too bad. Recommended!
