Most lovely Hotel!…read more I don't like to add reviews for Hotels, but this Hotel deserves 5 Stars. Clean, updated, quite, comfortable rooms with great views. Updated bathrooms. 2 Pools, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor infinity pools. Some of the best breakfast's we had, with a grand variety of breads, bread rolls, meats, fishes, fruits, pate's, etc. - Made to order breakfast was served hot, tasty and prepared with love. Check you the picture of my decaf Cappuccino. - The staff was very professional and friendly and we enjoyed a few nights at their bar, where they took utmost care of crafting drinks and drafting fresh beers to perfection. We had dinner one night in their restaurant and all of us were very very satisfied with the presentation, taste and variety. The local wines they offer are superb! It takes 10 minutes to walk to down town and the views from the hotel are wonderful. Wonderful Hotel and Restaurant!!!

Despite having just 36 rooms, there are a surprising amount of amenities including an indoor swimming pool. When we were there we had it to ourselves - extremely romantic as the staff lights big pillar candles and there's a view of the city through big glass doors. Our room was gorgeous - large, with a sitting area, lots of storage and a great bathroom with rainfall shower. Because its a bit outside the center, it's a 15 minute walk to the city proper for touring and dining. There is limited parking on site (maybe 10-12 spots). During the week dinner is served but on weekends, it's bar service only. If its sunny, there is a huge terrace overlooking Trier but it was chilly, so we sat in the comfy lounge. As can be expected, the wine list is full of local Moselle Valley treats at fair prices. Breakfast is included in your stay and includes homemade pâté, local cheeses and cooked eggs to order. Staff is young, enthusiastic and charming. I'd stay again in a heartbeat!

And be prepared for a great time set in the rolling hills of Southwest Germany. We were on a quest to find a great restaurant after exploring Trier earlier in the day. We hadn't really eaten that much and we both decided that we were tired of Schnitzel and the typical German fare. After getting a recommendation from a friend, we took a ridiculously expensive 50 Euro taxi to the Eifel. It was worth it though. We ordered the Fleich fur Zwei. It started with bread, a huge salad and then the meat tray. A giant 18" tray of steak, chicken, shrimp, vegetables and pork all served perfectly spiced but raw. Then they also gave us two square stones that looked like Space Shuttle tiles to use for cooking the said meats. I'm not sure if it was the flavor of the seasonings or the stone itself but the taste was both unique and flavorful at the same time. The stone cooked the steak in about 4 or 5 minutes. Just enough time to talk about our amazing day between courses. Then to top it off (just in case we were still hungry), they brought out another huge tray of various potatoes...baked and fried varieties. All for around 45 Euros total!

Definitely a must for those in the Eifel region. They serve a basic german salad, a hearty soup and potatoes (french fries and roasted) with every meal. The potatoes are served family style. I had the tukey breast with a fried pineapple #6. The curry sauce is not your typical asian flavor, this is creamier and less pungent. I also like the cranberry-like dollop they serve with this plate. Very nice compliment to the overall dish. My husband had the #13. He was given 3 meats (tukey,pork,beef/venison) that were raw and perfectly marinated. They came with 3 dipping sauces and out came his hot "tile" plate. He loved the whole concept of cooking his meats and above and beyond that, he really enjoyed his dinner! This is definitely a place to enjoy a nice meal. The dinner plus a couple of drinks was about 40 Euro.
