If it were possible two award less than one star, this hotel we definitely have earned it. I made the reservation about three months ago, and they billed me for the room in advance. I reserved a non-smoking room with a queen-size bed. I was taking a day trip by the train from Madrid, and was spending the night in Sevilla. After a long train ride from Madrid, I took a taxi to the hotel , checked in, and went to my room. When I walked into the room comma it reeked of nicotine and tobacco. I went back downstairs and spoke with the concierge and told him of the problem. He said that all the rooms were non-smoking rooms it, it was not possible there was smoking in a room. I invited him to come up to my room and check it out. He demurred, but spoke with a woman vacuuming in the lobby, and then told me she would bring an air cleaner to my room to clear up the air. I told him I would wait and I took a seat in the lobby. I could not bear the air in my room and was going to wait until it was clear. After about 15 minutes, he came to me and offered another room. Apparently they were not going to clear the air and the original room. I accepted the keys and was up to the new room. It was a small room with a twin size bed, neither what I had reserved nor what I paid for. I went back downstairs and spoke with the concierge again and he argued that I was a single Traveller and I had reserved a single room. I showed him on my reservation notification, that it was a room with with a queen-size size bed. He went to his file, pulled out his copy of my reservation confirmation, and pointed out that I was a single traveler in a single room. I looked at his copy of the reservation confirmation and pointed out to him that I had reserved and paid for a queen size bed in a larger room. After discussion back and forth, where the concierge tried to convince me that I was wrong, he finally offered me another room. However, before offering me the room , he looked at me in a rude Manner and rudely asked whether I had used any of the facilities in the room - the toilet a towel anything. I assured him that I had not. Totally frustrated and having wasted over an hour of time since originally arriving at the hotel, I went up to the new room the third one offered, and found the safe did not work. Also I looked at the locator and found that the hotel was nowhere close to the cathedral and LA giralda. And I was totally stressed from arguing back and forth with the concierge, who seemed intent upon being in the right and putting me in the wrong. I quickly check my smartphone for another hotel, and found a boutique Hotel, that was within 200 meters of the cathedral. IT was more expensive, but I decided the stress and aggravation with the hotel management would totally ruin my visit to Sevilla., and quickly did an online reservation for the last room at the boutique hotel. I decided the loss of the five 54 Euros and the increased costs of the boutique hotel would be well worth it. I didn't want to ruin my time in Sevilla any further , though I was still totally stressed by the battle with the most rudest concierge I had ever encountered in my entire life. And it was also my observation, that the hotel staff really did not check if rooms had been smoked in. From my interactions with this concierge I could only assume that the hotel management does not care at all for the comfort of their guests. I went back downstairs , found another concierge on duty , paid him 5 Euros to call a taxi for me and told him that I was going to my new hotel. It was such a relief when I arrived in my new room at the new hotel, that I had to reflect whether I had really taken a train from Madrid to Sevilla , as having ended up at hotel zaida, I thought that perhaps I was mistaken and that
Charon had carried me across from Madrid to hotel zaida in Seville. So upon reflection and the loss of the 54 Euros I had paid the hotel I realize that I only completed a journey to zaida that approximated the journey that Charon takes passengers on. The new hotel saved my entire trip to Sevilla and I put the nightmare of Zai da behind me. read more
