They have a gym, 2 pools, a gift shop and even a game room for adults and kids alike. They seem to cater to tourists with tour buses visiting the hotel daily and a staff that speaks a multitude of languages. Also there are a number of shops, sights and restaurants just a short walk away. Did I mention the full bar that hosts live music and karaoke? I felt truly at peace and relaxed during my stay and cannot recommend it enough. If you're looking to appreciate the natural beauty of São Miguel island, the Park Hotel is a delightful base to rest and relax.

Breakfast is included which is great. There is a good variety of local bread, couple local cheeses, yogurt, etc. The room itself needs updating. My room had two twin beds put together for my boyfriend and I. One lamp didn't work. The TV is the small and old bulky style. The fan in the bathroom, the AC and the phone doesn't work (we stayed in room 515). The bathroom is awkwardly laid out because of the door and toilet. Overall a clean hotel which is most important for me. Conveniently located~ a couple blocks from good restaurants and about a 15 minute walk from city center. Rental cars available on premise with free parking at the hotel. Great views of the ocean, city, wall ruins and the mountain from the room balcony!

This cliff side…read moreboutique hotel welcomes you by friendly staff (Rebecca!) and a delicious, I mean DE-LI-CIOUS welcome drink!! Check in was easy, but one of our rooms weren't ready so I roamed around taking in the breath taking views. The ambiance and environment felt very Mediterranean with everything being white, very Santorini-esk. It was less than 10 mins and we got our room. We had the ocean view rooms looking over the infinity pool and lounge area. Every detail from entry, waiting area, our rooms, outdoor amenities were on point! We had the biggest balcony compared to the others, but we hardly used it. We spent most of our time at the infinity pool (6 hours!!!) and enjoyed our lunch swimming and lounging around. It was much needed after an adventurous and intense 1 week in the Azores. We had dinner reservations in the outdoor patio, which we loved a lot. Nice atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Even the bread and butter was out of this world! Shave butter!!! WTH?! We all fell in love with everything about this place and their culinary. Every dish we order was phenomenal. Not sure if it's seasonal, but the rockfish with shrimp and crab polenta was to die for! The boys loved their aged sirloin with smoke bone marrow, but I would love another rockfish dish right now. The dessert? Muah!!! Love love love! I had the pineapple yogurt dessert and I'm in love all over again! The outdoor lounge area has a firepit where you can enjoy the stars at night, but we were too tired. Opt for an early-ish night, so I can wake up for breakfast! I don't think I need to rave again about how amazing their food is. Breakfast was included with our package and everything is made-to-order. Muah! Loved it and I ordered 2 more of the welcome drink lol! It's just that good! If you're in the Azores and on Ponta Delgado Island, this is a must! You can hotel hop if you want (we did), but end your trip here. You won't disappoint! Our friends got a massage before we left, so it's an all in one package at this place. We would love to come back next time!

White is very…read morereminiscent of Santorini -- which I have never visited as my husband pointed out when I made the comment to staff. However, I've spent years looking at photos of the Greek islands and dreaming of visiting. Natural wood, white and gray with touches of blue. White is beautifully appointed. The room is private and very comfortable. Best of all, the staff is phenomenal. Standouts were Joel (?) at the front desk and Sandra but everyone was genuinely welcoming and made us feel right at home. Don't even get me started on the food. Unbelievably good. A quick glance at my Yelp page and you will know that I have a serious love affair with food. The best meals we had in the Azores happened in the quaint little dining room. Breakfast each morning was perfect. The scrambled eggs, lightly sweet yogurt and infused water added up to the best breakfast we had our whole trip and I cannot function without breakfast! Do not delay making a reservation in the dining room for dinner. There are 7 tables and you don't want to be left out of this experience. The food is phenomenal. My husband says the parrotfish was delicious, as were the accompanying roasted vegetables. The jumbo shrimp I had both nights comes to me in my dreams. The little touches here (individual blankets, a fire pit) are just the icing on a scrumptious cake. I've been many places but White is the most beautiful, tranquil hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. It apparently opened in July, which explains the incredible deal. Once word spreads, this place will be a hard-to-get reservation. I would easily pay 5x the price to stay here. White is a one of a kind experience which I highly recommend.

Grand Hotel - Milk fish over tomato rice with a glass of local Azorean wine. Absolutely phenomenal dinner.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had anywhere!…read more Pros: Great Location: Centrally located near lots of bars, restaurants, shops, a currency exchange, a casino, public pools, and more. Exceptional Service: Rodrigo at the front desk provided early check-in, local recommendations, and helpful insights. He allowed me to check in several hours early because my room was ready. He also took the time to explain some of the must see sights on the island. I was especially pleased when he shared with me that there is more than one hot spring on the island because the one that I initially planned to go to is closed. This was the one thing I really wanted to do and his recommendation helped make my trip that much more satisfying. Hugo, the bellman, assisted with unloading and transporting my luggage and provided a thorough room walkthrough. I appreciate his knowledge and his thoroughness in explaining all of the room amenities an offerings. Housekeeping does an excellent job of straightening of cleaning and straightening up the room; organizing items to maximize space without moving them too much or misplacing them. The bar/restaurant staff are welcoming and attentive but give you the space to enjoy your meal. The valet puts a cold bottle of water in your cup holder before delivering your car to you. Room Amenities: The room was slightly dusty but otherwise very clean and well kept. Complimentary daily bottled water and welcome snacks provided.. There's also a Nespresso machine and electric tea kettle in the room, as well as bags of local tea and a few coffee pods, which are all replaced daily. There are multiple USB outlets, ample luggage space, and lots of hangers in the room. For convenience, the 230 volt plugs are situated on the walls near the floor. Strong steamer iron. One of the best I've used. Barely needed to make contact with my clothes to get the wrinkles out. Bathroom & Shower: The shower has 'rain shower' as well as handheld wand options, so you don't have to do the 'rotisserie chicken thing' to rinse off. Good water pressure too....plus it gets nice and hot. The washcloths and towels are thick, heavy, absorbent, and the perfect amount of coarseness. Cozy bathrobes and slippers are provided. Dining: Excellent breakfast buffet offering a delightful variety of local fruits, smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, pastries, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh squeezed orange juice, a local take on a few breakfast staples and, my personal favorite, DIY mimosas. Afternoon tea (2:30-6:00 p.m.) was a lovely spread of scones, croissants, pastries and tea sandwiches on Portuguese (English-style) muffin. I also appreciated how they honored my request of no pork. Some of the pastries were just a tiny bit overbaked, but everything was still very good. For €15, you really must try it. The staff sometimes offers complimentary treats from the kitchen while you're waiting for your meal. Other Amenities: Small but functional fitness center and tranquil, heated indoor pool. Efficient elevators. They arrive quickly, and I don't think I shared a single elevator the entire time I was there. Turn-down service (an unexpected surprise!). Valet places a cold water bottle in your car before delivery. Cons: Parking: Street parking is limited; valet is $14/day (however, they will bring you your car as many times as you like it no extra charge). There is also a parking garage nearby. Look for the structure that looks like an underground tunnel. Security Concerns: No peepholes, single door lock, and front desk verbally announces room number. Before giving me my key, the front desk staff verbally shared what room I would be in. That is a potential safety issue and I discreetly let them know that in the interest of safety it's probably not a good idea to do that, especially for solo female traveler. They were very apologetic and understanding. However, not long after that discussion, I heard them do the same thing to another female traveler who was checking in. The "complimentary" welcome drink voucher can only be used when you purchase a meal at the hotel restaurant Room Features: No fridge, microwave, bathroom fan, or iron (available on request). Limited bathroom counter space and hooks. Noise Levels: Occasional sounds from neighboring rooms. I could hear someone's cell phone ringing in one room. In another room I heard a guest sneezing repeatedly. Fortunately, I did not hear anything in terms of noise from above me. There's also a lot of loud thumping and bumping if housekeeping is cleaning rooms on either side of you. On Friday nights, the bars across the water sometimes have live music that will go until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. While it's not super loud, you're still able to hear it a little bit with the balcony door closed. Nothing a little white noise or turning on the TV can't fix though. Keep these things in mind if you are a light sleeper or otherwise sensitive to noise.

The breakfast is among the best I have ever received in Europe. Make sure you have it included in your room rate. I can't imagine that you will find a finer hotel on the island. It is located in the water front and is accessible to everywhere you would like to go in Ponta Delgada. If you love swimming, come prepared to swim nearby in the ocean or the beautifully maintained pools across the street from the hotel.
