They have a gym, 2 pools, a gift shop and even a game room for adults and kids alike. They seem to cater to tourists with tour buses visiting the hotel daily and a staff that speaks a multitude of languages. Also there are a number of shops, sights and restaurants just a short walk away. Did I mention the full bar that hosts live music and karaoke? I felt truly at peace and relaxed during my stay and cannot recommend it enough. If you're looking to appreciate the natural beauty of São Miguel island, the Park Hotel is a delightful base to rest and relax.

Breakfast is included which is great. There is a good variety of local bread, couple local cheeses, yogurt, etc. The room itself needs updating. My room had two twin beds put together for my boyfriend and I. One lamp didn't work. The TV is the small and old bulky style. The fan in the bathroom, the AC and the phone doesn't work (we stayed in room 515). The bathroom is awkwardly laid out because of the door and toilet. Overall a clean hotel which is most important for me. Conveniently located~ a couple blocks from good restaurants and about a 15 minute walk from city center. Rental cars available on premise with free parking at the hotel. Great views of the ocean, city, wall ruins and the mountain from the room balcony!

Almost a 5. Not perfect but pretty darn nice. Great facilities. Only a little further from the…read moreprime area of downtown for us but otherwise we were very happy with it. Check in right at 3. Nice room. Buffet dinner for $27 Euros was better than expected. Service was pretty good. Breakfast was included and was a huge spread of every possible thing you can think of and double that. The cost was reasonable. Just a good experience for us.

I came here during the winter months when there are fewer tourists. However, when I arrived at 8am…read more(there's only one flight per day from Toronto) I was told that I would have to wait until checkin time at noon. Upon further questioning the front desk, they reluctantly went to check if there were rooms available and there were. Surely they've faced this issue in the past, but the front desk gentleman who said that he has 20+ years of hotel service experience simply poked fun at tourists. He also stated a few times that I could not consume their breakfast on the first day without paying because it wasn't included. Chill out, I just need a place to rest on the first day after a long flight. The room was decent. I didn't have problems falling asleep. For the most part it was quiet. However, I noticed the wafting of cigarette smoke through the air vents. The room includes a small flat screen TV, a mini fridge, and a safe. I don't suggest using the mini fridge as they'll charge you for anything that is placed in there. The hotel has a "gym" that contains 2 machines. However, they have a water dispenser down there if you want to fill your water bottle. Wifi is free (they give you a password on a piece of paper). However, it was spotty and inconsistent. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk away from the main street where most of the restaurants and shops are located. It's about a 10 minute walk from the grocery store (Sol Mar). However, you'll have to find creative ways to bring in food because the front desk will not allow you to bring in outside food. Breakfast was pretty good. There is an assortment of water and juices. They have an assortment of bread, including croissants. There was always scrambled eggs, sausage and sometimes bacon, and mushrooms. You can even have eggs to order. I had dinner there once (19.65€). The dinner crowd consisted of older people and families with kids. Essentially those who don't want to walk 15-20 minutes to a restaurant. Dinner was okay, Nothing particularly special or noteworthy. Water is an additional charge, as it is at all restaurants in Ponta Delgada. However, the water was free during breakfast, so it didn't make sense to me. Overall, not a terrible hotel, but if I was going back I might choose one that's closer to the city center.

This review is for the spa services…read more Overall the facial was decent. I definitely noticed that my complexion was clearer and brighter at the conclusion of my services. However, I also noticed that my esthetician, Idelta, Left a lot of products behind on my skin. Several times during my service I could feel that she hadnot cleaned off all of the previous product before moving on to applying the next product. I didn't think too much about it since it would all be removed by the end of the service. However, several hours after my service, I felt rough bits of exfoliation products behind my earlobes and on my neck, as well as black peel-off mask bits on my neck and chest. The peel-off mask should have been very easy to see because of the color, and because of it's contrast against my skin. Very sloppy work. I would have appreciated her paying more attention to detail. Additionally, several times during my treatment Idelta stopped my service to answer cell phone calls. I understand that she was one of the only people working at the spa that evening, but she never said "excuse me" before stepping away, and she did not wash her hands in between responding to calls. Touching her dirty phone and then going back to my treatment is unsanitary. What made things worse is that every time she took a call she was practically yelling into her phone... All while standing mere inches from the top of my head. She could have easily stepped out of the room or into the hallway and spoke quietly and returned to my service like nothing happened, but instead she chose to stand several inches away from my face and holler into her phone. The very opposite of a relaxing experience. 2.5 out of 5 stars. Otherwise, I would have probably given it a 4. After my treatment, I asked to speak to a manager, but was informed that she was gone for the day. I returned the next day for a massage with another provider. Before that treatment, I was able to track down the manager, Maria with guest services. I barely got two sentences into my complaint before Maria got defensive. I told her that I had some challenges My appointment the previous evening with a Delta and she cut me off saying "wow. That's surprising. I've never heard that before. You're the only one. Everyone loves Idelta". Okay, that's great. But that's their experience. Not mine. I decided not to waste too much more time raising my concerns to Maria, who was not actively listening. Since this spa was recommended by the concierge at the hotel I was staying at (next door), I went back to there to share my experience and raise my concerns. I also advised the staff to no longer recommend this spa to guests of our particular hotel because of the low standards of service and the unprofessional way that we are treated as guests here, compared to how we're treated at our own hotel. Fortunately, my massage experience was much better. I wouldn't waste money on the "Rituals" treatment though.... It's almost a hundred bucks for somebody to rub body scrub on you for an hour. Not worth it. Didn't notice any considerable improvement in my skin texture. The massage was okay, but he completely forgot to massage my arms. When I reminded him at the conclusion of the service, he slathered some oil on his hands, rubbed it into my arms and called it a day. Again, very poor attention to detail. In addition to that, the spa offers water, but but no cups for gas. After my facial, a hotel guest asked for a cup for the water machine. Idelta told her "we don't have any." When I return for my massage the next night, I attempted to get some water from the station in the massage room and again there were no cups. before I have the chance to ask, some guy I had never seen before was sticking a credit card machine in my face prompting me to pay. No asking 'how everything was' or if I needed anything. Just completely unprofessional. Please do not waste your money on spa services at this hotel. They charge premium prices for a subpar experience. If you want relaxation and tranquility, you will not find it here.

We were advised by both our Trip Leader and the Front Desk staff that it would be "perfectly safe". The hotel acknowledged my backpack was stolen. They helped only to get my medication--and toothbrush--replaced. They are not taking responsibility for any aspect of replacing the valuable articles stolen that my trip insurance did not cover. There are many good hotels on this road--safer, cleaner and with management that is more customer oriented. Stay at one of those.
