Our first impression of Hotel Tuto was that it was a bit seedy. No real lobby and a small elevator or stairs up to rooms. Upon closer scrutiny, this place is quite clean with fresh paint in the rooms and new tiling in bathrooms and room floors. The refrigerators actually cool your drinks and the air conditioning works well in this climate of hot southern Spain. The staff are very accommodating. They offer a continental breakfast for a bit more per night although the owners are associated with the bar/restaurant next door on the corner. The bar is very popular which is a good sign of good food. Otherwise the rooms are basic. It's location is a bit south of the port of Torrevieja with beach access (3 blocks) to Playa de Los Naufragos. This is outside the breakwater of the port and is much less crowded than the beaches next to the boardwalk and La Mata. Parking is on the street but it is a quiet community and there is always space close by. read more
