We have stayed at Hotel La laguna around three/four times before and have always had a great time. On this occasion the air con was not working which no one told us about until we complained of no sleep in our sauna room. We also couldn't call reception to ask for assistance as the phones didn't work (apparently upgrading them). The internet was also down for a few hours on or first night but got fixed so no major issue. For our air con issue we got offered a second room by the maintenance man which didn't have any working air con so we said no and then got offered another which was so much better and air con worked a treat. As I complained at having no sleep on our first night and with being pregnant it was dangerous for me to overheat the hotel gave us a refund of our first night but first checked the rest of our stay was satisfactory. I was really disappointed with my stay this time around and don't know if I would go back even though this was one of our fave hotels in Alicante but the manager (when he was in) did get an extra star for acknowledging the issues. I think the pool was also broken/off for a couple of days and possibly the spa too but as we didn't ask what the issue was I can't 100% be sure. It is a good hotel but I didn't enjoy my experience this time.

I recommend it even if you live elsewhere. The hotel is some 20 minutes walk from the city center. The nearest beach is about 850 m away (7 minutes walk).

No, this is not a genetics lab, you arrived in the hotel. Pronounced "donya", shortened from "Doña". Means "Ms. Monse". They add "Golf" to their name sometimes. True, there are several golf courses around but there's no immediate access to any of them. They are some 10 minutes drive from here. You will have to drive to other places too - beaches, shopping centers, Torrevieja city center. The hotel is new, everything is clean, nothing is broken, WiFi works perfectly. There are several cafes, including one with a swimming pool on the roof top - Cafe Pink. Pricey comparing to anything around. Beer - €5. SPA. Prices start from €15 (1.5 hour of sauna, jacuzzi, hot tubs). There's a gym too. Bottom line: great new hotel with reasonable prices offering many amenities. One of the few places in town where everything is new, clean and in perfect working order. Not your typical worn out Costa Blanca :)

The place is buzzing at night with dancing and music. The view from our window in the room is stunning. We were in a room at the back of the hotel and asked to be moved to a sea view. The staff were so accommodating and helpful and moved us the next day to a perfect room. We will be back.

Pros close to the port, safe, walkable to both Playa Acequion and Nafraugos. Bars and local restaurants are short walk away. Parking, locker is available. Rooms are spacious with basic amenities. Our room had a balcony, which is a plus, however........ Cons: can be noisy at night especially with the karaoke bar being down the hotel square. It didn't end until 1am!!! Rooms need some updates as it's a outdated.
