A single hotel room and the bathroom are a good size. Modern, clean, affordable*. (*I was here in…read moreJune 2018 and had prepaid a non-refundable reservation through Booking.com, €457 for 5 nights.) For me, the bed was quite uncomfortable. With that being said, if you like a very hard bed, then you will sleep well. (This opinion is coming from someone who has a Serta iComfort mattress, so take that into consideration when reading my opinion.) Breakfast (colazione) buffet is varied and plentiful. (7:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.) Offerings are several types of cereals, eggs, 'sausage' (meaning more like little hotdogs for us Americans), pastries, etc. Of course, like almost anywhere in Italy, the coffee (caffe) is smooth and yummy.Pool is large and is also a lap pool. Drinks (full bar) are offered around the pool. If you want pizza, they have another outdoor section near the pool where you can order food. There is a Mirasole restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, but dinner service ends at 9 p.m., which is out of character for all other eateries. I have not eaten here as there are so many other interesting restaurants to try. Some of the front desk staff are not as cordial as others, but all are helpful as they can be. Ah, the balcony in my room was so nice to spend time just relaxing. My room faced the front of the hotel. The view of the water, beach, and mountains are lovely. (Will attach photos.) You are only a couple of blocks from the beach. Mirasole offered a 1-day pass with my reservation to the beach to reserve beach loungers, a chair, and umbrella. Otherwise, plan on spending €15 - €20 /day, for an all-day rental. Access to the beach and walking the beach is free, but again, you will have to pay if you want an umbrella, loungers etc. Each business on the beach is like the gestapo, so do not think you can slip into a lounger for free. Ok, enough said....heading to the spiaggia (beach)!

They even delivered gelato to my hotel room when I was sick with a head cold and too tired to sit in restaurant. Staff was very friendly, hard working and kept hotel in great shape. I have been staying at the Fagiano (and a few stays at the Miramare- same owner) for over 16 years…read more It had been a few years since my last visit/trip to Italy and I returned this time for a 3 day stop on my Italian honeymoon. I wasn't sure what to expect (this being my honeymoon) but my wife and I couldn't have been happier with our stay! For ease of review, I'm going to list my comments below. 1. The staff - The staff at the Fagiano are honestly the nicest, most courteous, professional, and respectful of any hotel staff I have ever encountered. My wife couldn't believe the service we received (which was so unfamiliar to her as an American) that she didn't want to leave on our last day. We've stayed at hotels in Chicago, NYC, Rome, Paris, etc that cost almost four times as much but their service from front desk to dinner table couldn't even hope to compare. 2. Special requests - Being familiar with the hotel I had requested through my booking.com reservation a room on the second floor terrace. Not only was this request able to be fulfilled, but I was also contacted via email from the hotel to let me know the status of my request. The second floor of the hotel faces the Sea and these rooms have a huge terrace where one can sit and drink wine, eat Gaeta olives, and Italian cheese while watching the sun set. In a country filled with amazing views (and my wife loved the views from Assisi, Orvieto, Cinque Terra, Ravello) the view from your second floor terrace at the Fagiano rivals/beats them all. 3. Cleanliness - the hotel staff did an excellent job cleaning our room each day. The floors were always clean of any sand we might have carried in and we never wanted to fresh towels. To summarize, I highly recommend the Fagiano to anyone visiting this part of Italy. I use yelp and trip advisor all the time during my travels and this is my first review that I have felt I needed to write (My experience was that good)!

Even if a little out dated, this little hidden gem of a hotel has a lot to offer. Nestled between…read morethe water front and Mount Circeo, it's not over crowded and seems to be more of an Italian get away (eg NOT touristy!!!!) Our room looked out over the water and had a massive balcony, nice to fall asleep to the waves. The pool area is fantastic with a massive pool, very well kept!! There is one guy working in reception, who was made for hospitality. Kind, polite, professional, multi-lingual and very helpful. The beds are not the softest, the rooms are not modern, it feels like you're walking into a flashback from the 90's perhaps. But the prices reflect this so it's all good. The pool and waterfront location make it a steal, really! The location is convenient, you can walk to the harbor where you find many restaurants and the best little ice cream shop!! Big yes for me!

This review will focus primarily on the poor restaurant, bureaucratic staff, and overall…read moreincompetence. The place is beautiful and looks promising with the Michelin advisory in the front window. The biggest problem is they are just there to collect a paycheck and they are poorly managed. The food is not good and is extremely overpriced. Example: 30 euros for a chewy calamari dish that you would have sent back anywhere else. I could not eat it. But I was unable even to pay and run. They had all kinds of technical problems (as if it were a complicated international invoice for shipping containers-mind you ...we are talking a calamari) even though I was the only person in the restaurant. It took them five people including all the top managers arguing to get my bill paid. No one is friendly. I tried to joke about the situation and show a human side but they are just clueless about people; they are immersed in their problems here. The lettuce served was brown, clearly cut about four or five days earlier. They lack management or a real chef in the kitchen. That is why no one is coming.
