San Sebastian's kind of an expensive place if you're looking to book a hotel for a couple of nights, and my husband and I chose this place for our visit because it was the cheapest place we could find that had rooms with private bathrooms. Maybe we had our expectations low due to some other reviews online, but I was pleasantly surprised by this place.
Yes, it's loud. It's right by the train station and very near a bus stop. In fact, the bus stop was right outside our window. However, we live on a pretty busy street at home and sleep like the dead so this was not a problem for us. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to look elsewhere, though. No, the rooms aren't the most modern in the world but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had pretty good water pressure. That's all I need.
The lady who greeted us at the front desk was very nice and spoke very good English. She gave us a map of the city, pointed out the points of interest and even let us know about some markets going on the next morning. That was really helpful.
It's very near the river that runs through town and about a ten minute walk to the beach. Very good location. And hey, the price was right. read more
