We got to stay in the hanging nests! They also have little hobbit like rooms that face the Mountain View. Hands down, this has been one of the most memorable and unique places that I have ever stayed at! I absolutely loved it. The property itself is beautiful. It has lots of vegetation, flowers, chickens, trees, bamboo, rocky steps, adorable rooms, and the views are absolutely amazing! This place is located on top of a mountain, so you can see the city of Xilitla from up above (it looks tiny from up there!).
The hanging nests are $40 a night. What a bargain! Inside your nest is a mattress, pillows, blanket, and bottled water. They provide a plastic container outside for your bags/luggage. The restrooms and showers are community ones and they are near the restaurant area. It's a little walk from your nest, so go to the restroom before you go to sleep! I might suggest bringing ear plugs, bc it was pretty noisy at night. You will hear chickens walking around, dogs barking, roosters, etc.! In the morning it looked like we were up in the clouds. Make sure to wake up for the sunrise, it was awesome!
We got there late at night so we missed out on dinner (I think it closed at 8). We made sure to enjoy their breakfast the next morning. The restaurant area is up on a wooden platform and is surrounded by trees. You get to enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains while you eat. Our breakfast was really tasty and very reasonably priced. It looked like their were some hiking trails near the property. Next time I plan on getting there earlier to be able to enjoy the property for longer. I cannot wait to stay here again!
**The hotel is a little difficult to book, because you can't book it online. You have to call ahead and you must know Spanish to communicate with the hotel staff. When we reserved ours, they wanted us to have a Mexico bank account, which we didnt have. They told us to just bring cash and that they would hold our reservation. I was a little nervous that they would give it to someone else since we had not paid, but it was all ready for us when we got there! read more
