I really love this hotel. Location: The location is in the town and you can walk to everything. They have free parking outside but it is small. Also a covered parking garage below. Right across the street there is a supermarket which is great for stocking up on bottled water or snacks. Room: Our room was gorgeous. Love the quirky design. The beds are soooo comfy - like memory foam. I took full advantage of the large spa like tub and the complimentary bath salts. Room had a hair dryer and really yummy smelling bath products. Please note - they do not provide conditioner so if that is important, pack your own. Breakfast: Awesome breakfast. Great cappuccinos, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold cuts, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice. Best hotel breakfast I've had in Europe. Other: There was a small gym area and wellness oasis with sauna, etc. very nicely appointed with hot teas, etc. I really loved their offer to make me a cappuccino for the road When we checked out, they presented my five year old with a small stuffed toy. Just really wonderful stay!

Still a great place when in the area. They have some cool theme rooms but if you like them you need to plan ahead as they book up fast. This place is only minutes from the Castles in the area and so much to do here. Located near city center so anything you need is walking distance. We were here near the end of October fest and I love the workers everywhere dressed in the traditional outfits. Certainly the women. The downtown area was very busy and many shops to see and walk through. If you love the outdoors this is a great area to visit with the trails, campgrounds, river, etc. Highly recommend the Hotel and city. As a bonus, I proposed here, including the pic as well.

Beautiful cozy hotel in the little town of Fussen, about a 2-3 minute walk from the Fussen train station, so very convenient to drag your luggage with you and to go back to the train station to take the bus to the castles. All the rooms are decorated differently so it's hard to comment on each one; random Bavarian costumes in the stairwells and hallways. Delicious breakfast the next morning (included in price of the room)... fresh squeezed orange juice machine, all sorts of jams and honeys, cheeses, variety of teas, etc. Wifi also free. They also helped us book tickets to the castle for the following morning.

Pay for the underground parking!! Worth it!

One of my favorite hotels I have stayed at in Europe. Rooms are clean and cozy and the staff is extremely kind and welcoming.

Both are a short walking distance from the castles, but should you need to take a horse and carriage for the one mile ride up to Neuschwanstein, it is 5.5 Euro per person and it is a shared trip. Now onto the hotel: We arrived at the hotel at 11. There was no early check-in. We had to wait until 3. Not a big deal. I made the mistake of booking a double when there were two adults and one child in our group.I lucked out though as they had a triple available-a suite, #15 with a double in one room and a single in the living room. It had an extremely large balcony with a view of Hohenschwangau and of the town. It was so big you could fit a couple dozen people on it easily. Bathrooms-We had two. One had a tub and the other a shower. There was only shampoo that I am guessing was to serve as a multipurpose soap as there was no body wash or soap bar provided. The hair dryer was on a tight and short cord so you had to blow dry your hair extremely close to the wall. You also have to press down on the hairdryer for it to work (you don't just press an on button). The beds were comfortable and there were televisions in each room. The room came with bottle water. Not sure if they were free, but it was convenient. As for breakfast, they had cold meats & cheeses, hot eggs, sausage and bacon, bread, croissants, 3 or 4 different kinds of cereals and fruit. There was apple juice, orange juice, water and possibly one other juice. Try sitting in the sunnier room of the two as you have views of Neuschwanstein castle. Overall, it was a good stay. Also note they do speak English there if you do not speak any Deutsch

The rooms were well-maintained and everything from the bed to the bathroom was pristine. One aspect that really impressed me was the front desk staff. They arranged castle tour tickets for us. Just ask at check in and they will have them for you the next morning. As for transportation, getting to the castle was easy. Either walk, take the bus, or a horse and carriage ride. Just a heads-up, the horse and carriage only accepts cash. Unfortunately, the hotel's ATM was out of order during our stay, but there was one located close to the ticket booth. Also, I recommend making the short drive to Füssen. It's a charming spot with little shops, good food, and great views of the mountains. Pro tip: take a pretzel from breakfast and enjoy it with a view of the castle
