Quickly learned what nessun signale (no signal) means. T.V. and WIFI lack constant service. Why do I need T.V. and WIFI, well I want to check recommendations from the staff with WIFI and background noise from the T.V. while doing research is nice. The room was just alright. The staff allowed us to change rooms from the tower to a ground level with patio. The view of the valley was great. Room had two sets of doors to the outside, being able to open for circulation was nice. Heat throughout was turned up to 50c, why don't know but turned that down though the room was still warm and humid. Can't open the windows cause there isn't any, only the doors. Could have left the door open at night for air, but what about safety? The bathroom shows signs of mold and smells like bleach, would help if there was circulation. They charge for the water that is replenished daily, though was not informed until check out. Breakfast is limited in choices. The staff has different understandings of what a coffee means, to some its an espresso and to some its a cup of coffee. Parking is plentiful.

However I do recall the many, many courses of molto delicioso cibo. Irma, the proprietor, is such a wonderful hostess and chef. Every time we come back to visit, we stop here for a meal. Our last trip to Italy in July was 2 and a half weeks long and without question, our meal here was the best of the trip. I had a plate of spinach ravioli drenched in ricotta sauce with tartufo shavings that was absolutely rapturous. It was...glorious. How glorious was it you ask? It was SO glorious that as I'm writing this and trying to pay homage to its gloriousness, I'm starting to drool--I am NOT kidding. I mean...imagine you're eating a plate of the sexiest pasta you've ever had. As the olfactory/gustatory pleasure mounts, you can almost hear the cherubim and seraphim moaning at the pleasure of your pleasure in the background. Yeah. THAT glorious. The Huzby had some cinghiale pappardelle that also knocked it out of the park. He didn't mention anything about angels, but not a noodle was left behind. The tiramisu was divine in its own right. We arrived earlier than expected and they stepped up and got our room ready so we could clean up before heading into the City. Our room was on the second floor and was a fairly large room with nice views. The bed was comfortable, WiFi worked fine and the bathroom was a nice size as well. Only downside was that there was no safe, which probably wasn't necessary as we felt the location was very secure. Breakfast is served downstairs in the morning and was the simple fare of similar European hotels. Price was fair for what we got and we were even able to arrange a ride into Monteriggioni.

We assumed by the decent reviews that we would be in luck given the location and how hungry we were. Having said that, the restaurant has TERRIBLE customer service. I was actually offended by how combative they were and ruined what could have been a wonderul experience. They cater to tourists with an English menu but god forbid they enter the wrong order. They will NOT fix it and will force you to pay. We simply wanted a 3 euro discrepancy fixed on our bill and we were met with extreme disrespect. The nature of the older waiter Massimo was unsettling to me as he was very demeaning and argumentative with my girlfriend. It was so pathetic that by not owning up to his mistake and fixing it so we could pay, he wanted to call the cops on us for disputing the dishonesty. The other waiter who previously spoke English decided that he would forget how to speak English during this confrontation, lying to us point blank and failing to mediate the situation properly. In summary, you may be seduced by the views at first but the absolute lack of professionalism and customer service WILL INSULT you.
