I almost wish the inside of the hotel had a more quaint feeling. It has obviously been remodeled but I feel it's missing the charm and special little beauty that the town has. The room was nice and the breakfast that the hotel serves was great. A nice selection and good way to start the day. We had asked about a place one night to grab a late night dinner and was sent to a place in town that was closed, but we ended up finding a cute little area that had a chocolate shop and a couple restaurants: gelaterias. We stayed here for two nights while we explored the area during the day. Drove to Montepulciano, Chianti, and Siena. I enjoyed the view from the window which opened out and I could see the Tuscan sunset.

Even though my room faced the main street, it was very quiet. Breakfast included a variety of items, including eggs, several different kinds of cheese, meats, fresh tomatoes and three different kinds of sweets. WI-FI was FAST! When the family and I decided we would make the journey…read moreto Tuscany 4 years ago, we selected Antico Borgo San Lorenzo for a few basic reasons: - great location & proximity to Siena, Florence & San Gimignano - air conditioning (you really need this) - pool - wifi When we arrived, we realized we had stumbled upon a fairytale farmhouse. The views are breath taking, there is a pool for the kids, and the restaurant is first rate. We had found our little Tuscan Heaven. We loved it so much, we came back 4 years later, and brought our friends. So this year 10 of us made the journey and spent 4 days of perfection. The hosts (Jocopo, & Allessia) are so warm and Lavinia was there for our every need. We stayed in the Ginestra San Gimignano apartment which was perfect for our family of 5, and gave us a stunning view of vineyards and the pool. The apartments are well equipped, although we didn't cook any means there. We did pick up light snacks and fridge items. Nice to have a fridge to keep you water & beer cold. If you are planning a Tuscan trip, stay here. It is just that perfect, and the restaurant is over the top perfection. We will be back!!!!!

I don't remember exactly what room numbers we had, however 3 rooms shared one large balcony with the most amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. Not to mention, San Gimignano is a fun town with great history and a lot to see. The hotel is located right in the main square, next to the gelato place that apparently won best gelato in the world (or something like that). This is a must if you're planning on visiting.
