The Sailer Hotel looks like it was once a grand venue for the most exquisite of people. However, it has gotten lost in time. The Hotel now looks old and worn - it has arthritis. The rooms and decorations are remnants from another era and have suffered the abuse of generations of hotel guests.
My room was a small double occupancy room with a private bathroom that looked like it was converted from a closet. The furnishings and carpets were all worn out and old, in questionable cleanliness. Light fixtures, door handles and the bathroom sink were in need of maintenance, if not replacement.
Overall, the room was OK at best, certainly not what is to be expected of a 4-star hotel.
The hotel staff was able to accommodate my requests but would not get the award for friendliness or going above & beyond.
Included in my stay was a decent breakfast buffet, which was served in the hotel restaurant. I did not try the restaurant for lunch or dinner, but have heard their traditional Tyrolean cuisine is quite good.
For the discounted price I got this room at, I will accept its condition, however I'm sure there are better options to stay at in Innsbruck. read more
