It is in the middle on nowhere in Swiss countryside, it's small and seems to require advance bookings. I just realized it made the Michellin Guide 2016 restaurant and for good reasons: 1. It uses traditional open wood-fire grilling and roasting 2. All food is natural and locally sourced probably from the chef's family farm of relative's farms 3. I had Reindeer tartare for starter dressed with sliced raclette (it was my first time eating raw non-smoked reindeer) Very delicious, the wine pairing enhanced the flavors 4. We sat close to the wood-fire and watched the raclette melt on a piece of steak and brought right to my plate. It was very tender and full of flavor. 5. For desert i had a bowl of wild berries topped with vanilla ice-cream. The berries were tangy tasting and refreshing 6. I don't know how much the food cost This is one of my best dining experiences in my entire life. We ate lunch at this restaurant during a road trip from The Locarno film festival to Zermatt with family friends who noted they had made the reservation a year in advance. Upon arrival we were immediately seated, there was no line. There were less than 12 tables. The service was personal and everyone was friendly. To get to this restaurant may prove to be challenging for people unfamiliar with the Swiss countryside. This is one of those dinning experiences worth planning one's life around at some point. I don't think i managed to fully and articulately describe my experience here. It was memorable for the food, the service and the wine.

Friends in the area took me here, and it was a real treat - fresh, creative cooking paired with Swiss wines. We had a gewürztraminer from the Valais followed by a red vin de table that had a nice acidity which paired well with the lamb we had. We started with a smoked salmon crème fraîche amuse-bouche, followed by venison carpaccio with a strong Swiss cheese and a balsamic glaze. (I'm not a huge carpaccio fan, but I have to admit this was actually delicate and elegant.) Then came a salad with speck, superb greens, and unbelievable local melon. For the main dish we had a perfectly cooked rack of lamb encrusted with nuts and served with a small potato pie. To finish things off we had a chocolate soufflé with coconut ice cream and a delicious olive-oiled and salted piece of soft dark chocolate. It was a memorable meal, and the chef greeted us in the end, so we could offer our compliments. If you're in the region, this place is worth a trip, and if you're nearby, you have absolutely no excuse not to stop by.

We had a family of four so just shared a couple of pizzas - bill came to 41.50 - coming from Italy, a little pricey, but I think for Switzerland, this was reasonable.
