I found Hotel Regina through Kayak.com when searching for a centrally located hotel in Milan. I stayed here for two nights recently and had a very good experience, especially for the price. I was given a single room which featured a twin bed, desk and chair, a flat-screen TV and a mini-fridge. The room was facing an interior courtyard, so it was always calm and quiet. The bathroom was nicely updated and featured a very powerful ("Am I in a car wash?") "rain shower" which was refreshing after busy days of sightseeing. There is a free breakfast provided from 7:00-10:00am which was a nice extra. I found the breakfast spread to be ample, featuring a variety of choices including a couple of hot dishes. The lady tending the breakfast was also friendly and attentive - And patient in allowing me to practice my terrible Italian!
The hotel is centrally located which is probably its strongest asset. It took me about 15 minutes to walk to the Duomo, about 15 minutes to walk to Santa Maria delle Grazie (home of the Last Supper fresco) and about 10 minutes to walk to the Naviglio area. These three are probably tourist "must-sees" in Milan, by the way. It was about a 5-7 minute from the Sant'Ambroglio Metro station as well. Overall, Hotel Regina is a fine choice and certainly a bargain in the area respective to other, more expensive hotels. read more
