We love our Christmas market trips and this year decided on Prague. We found a hotel that offered an exceptional deal for our budget so we booked. However, reading reviews we were then unsure!!
Arriving at this Art Deco hotel we checked that this was the same hotel that people had written about. Reception was friendly and swift. Given our 5th floor keys we entered the lift which only worked using your room key, a plus for security. The room, with balcony overlooking the river, was amazing. In fact, the bathroom was bigger than some rooms we had stayed in on previous trips. Massive bed, safe, mini-bar, writing desk, telephone, TV, air conditioning and plenty of storage space. The bathroom had a bath with shower, separate corner shower (water pressure top notch), hair dryer, toiletries, plenty of towels and bath robes. WOW. Towels are changed every day by the very efficient housekeeping staff.
Before unpacking, checked out the city for an hour or two before coming back for a couple of drinks in the Piano Bar. Great live music and friendly service from the bar staff. Time for bed. Sunk into the soft bed for a wonderful quiet night.
In the morning breakfast. Now there has to be a downside to this exceptional deal! It certainly wasn't the breakfast. So much to choose from. I doubt if anyone would go hungry. Cereals, fruit juices, fruit, hot and cold meats and eggs, various breads, croissant and pastries. Fantastic. Again, the staff were there to clear plates as soon as you had finished that part of the meal. Leaving a clear table for your next course.
Everything went so smoothly even checking out. We had a late evening flight but had to check out at 12 noon. Our bags were securely locked away by Michael, the 'bell boy' until we needed them at 5.00 pm. This gave us an extra 6 hours in this wonderful city.
I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. Reviewers class it as 3 star, I class it 4 star. With renovations which are going on, we were informed, it will be 5 star. Thank you, all the staff, for a wonderful stay. We will see you again. read more
