My wife and I loved our 5-night stay at this wonderful hotel. She and I have traveled all over the world and both think this was one of the best stays we have ever had. Located right on Republic Square, there was incredible easy access to trams, buses, a metro station (temporarily closed for renovation), a giant shopping mall, grocery stores and very good restaurants. It is located just far enough from Old Town Square to avoid the crowds, tour groups, and higher prices, close enough to conveniently walk.
Reception staff, bellmen, bar and wait staff were universally friendly and the two elevators very quick - no long waits at any time. Our room (517) overlooked the square and had a great view. Because of the double set of windows, noise was kept to a minimum, even with the occasional emergency vehicle siren. There was also a solid glass door at the end of the entrance area (containing the closet and coffee/mini bar). Thus the room door and this glass door eliminated all hallway noise.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub, large walk-in shower, heated towel rack, and an acceptably large sink and counter. There was also a small desk, chair, and dresser. All very adequate.
What was amazing was access to their breakfast buffet and afternoon executive lounge. The had the most amazing, varied, high quality breakfast buffet I have ever seen included in the room price. A large variety of cereals, cold cuts, cheeses, sushi rolls, yogurts, breakfast pizzas, fresh pancakes with sauces, a large pastry and bread assortment, eggs, sausages, ham, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans, fresh squeezed orange juice, other fruit juices, made-to-order omelets, ice cream with mix-ins, coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, and prosecco. I'm sure I've left things out.
The same venue as the breakfast buffet serves as the Brasserie Restaurant in the evening. We had one dinner there which was very good. Very good service, good food and good value.
There was also little need to eat lunch out, as in the afternoon, in the executive lounge, there is a lunch buffet with complementary soft drinks, beers, wines, and several hard liquors. I also tried the spa for a massage and it was top notch. Were I to return to Prague, I cannot imagine trying a different hotel. read more
