Hotel Unitas is a gem, hidden in plain sight. My wife and I use Expedia for all our travels and such, and Unitas came highly recommended. We checked it out on all the usual travel sites, blogs, etc., and Unitas kept coming up aces, so we decided to book our 8 day stay with them. Since we have VIP status on Expedia, it's always nice to get the little perks, that are nice to have, that you don't have to ask for. Our room as upgraded, received some complimentary items (which is always appreciated). The staff, I can't speak highly enough. Very knowledgeable, more then willing to help and honestly, I feel we have been treated extremely well during our stay.
For our package, the breakfast was included, and let me tell you, what a spread! They also offer other egg options too, upon request, and provide a little card with the options they have. Everything about the whole breakfast experience here has been just perfect! Did I mention it's all you can eat? If you walk away from this breakfast hungry, it's on you, as they have just about anything and everything you would want for breakfast.
Let's talk about how romantic the grounds are? From the street, the building is non-descript. But once you walk inside, you see all the little touches that they spent a bit of time on. The hand painted signs on the walls is a nice touch. The hidden coffee nooks right around every corner, just perfect to enjoy there, or take supplies back to your room. In the afternoon, they put out little snacks and drinks that vary day-to-day. At night, in the inner courtyard, that you can see from any window, they have lit candles burning on the steps.
The size of the Unitas Hotel is massive, but not in the traditional sense. It's long, it winds, and is delightfully quiet, the kind of quiet, that if you're from Los Angeles, you would either need to go into a sound studio, rent time in a deprivation tank, or even drive out to the high desert just to really find this quiet, that the Unitas Hotel has to offer in each of the rooms. When you go to your room, upon entry, there's a quaint aroma that fills the rooms from electronic diffusers plugged into the walls. Our room has a coffee nook, which really helps for that any hour you want a cuppa' it's right there. They do have a room fridge, but there really isn't a need, when you have a Tesco Market just down the street and plenty of small Czech bodegas all within walking distance.
The Unitas Hotel is also well positioned, within walking distance to several amazing places to eat. Upon our first night, the staff at the front suggested Stoleti - and it quickly became a favorite of ours, so nice, we had to eat there twice! Another suggestion was Café Louvre. Both are less then a five-minute walk from the Hotel Unitas.
The bottom line is this, for the price point, if you can swing it, you'll get everything you're looking for and so much more. Treasured memories, access to amazing and wonderful experiences, close enough to walk into any fun you could want, and have the knowledge that you're not that far to return to an extremely comfortable bed, super thick walls, so you'll not hear the neighbors, that perfect quiet to help you think and sleep... You really can't ask for anything more! read more
