Needed a stopping point for a 1200 mile drive west and wanted to be on the west side of Chicago…read morewhen I stopped. This place was right off I-55 and just a few miles away from I-80 so it was ideally placed. Booked through an online travel site and got a decent rate. Good thing I booked in advance because the hotel was almost sold out the night I was there. Check-in was a breeze and I was in my room within 15 minutes of arriving. Room was nice and clean, linens fresh, bathroom clean, TV, microwave and small refrigerator all working. Despite the complaint of Scott O on 6/24/15, we had no problem connecting to the hotel WiFi using the password on our key card holder. I was able to work and my son had no problem with some online gaming. Beds were a bit firmer than I like, but I suspect that is to help them last so the chain doesn't have to replace the mattresses that often. Breakfast the next morning was your standard hot breakfast most hotel chains are offering - eggs, potatoes of some kind, sausage or bacon, waffle maker, yogurt, cereal, pastries, bread for toasting, juices, and coffee/tea. Dining area is somewhat small and since the hotel was booked, it was kind of crowded. Staff had a hard time keeping up with everyone, but there were enough choices that we had no problem getting enough food before we checked out. Check out process was smooth and painless and getting back on I-55 to get back to I-80 was a piece of cake. Will definitely keep this place in mind as a stopping point in the future.

I stayed 4 nights (close to $600) and had to extend my room for one more night due to an evening flight. I rebooked online and was hit with an unexpected $30 charge. When I asked for an explanation, the manager, Roy Patel, could not provide any written policy to justify the fee. I don't mind paying for good service, but this felt like unnecessary penny-pinching. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. For a brand that prides itself on hospitality, this was disappointing. Our company books hotels regularly for multiple road crews and spends thousands weekly. After this experience, we'll be taking our business elsewhere and advising our network to do the same. Transparency and customer service matter--sadly, this location failed on both.

I was fooled by most of the great reviews because this hotel's pool was the slimiest & scumiest pool I've ever encountered, and the hot tub was even worse! And this is that the pool room was creepily dark from literally more bulbs being burned out than being on in there. The upkeep at this hotel is so bad they can't even be bothered to change light bulbs?? We also asked the front desk guy for more towels (after going back & forth to search for him twice as he was nowhere to be found) because there wasn't enough, and he said he hadn't had a chance to do a load yet.. Isn't that part of the job, to ensure there's always some for guests? We checked in with this same guy at 4pm that day, and then asked for the towels around 10pm, so 6 hours later, he still never got around to do a load? The next morning we were checking out, there was a hand written sign by the pool stating that it was closed for cleaning, so at least another guest/s or staff finally must've noticed how scummy & gross the pool & hot tub were (we hadn't complained about that, but I did ask the front desk guy why it was so creepily dark in there the night before.) On the positive and fair notes: Besides all of that, everything else was ok and the breakfast wasn't so bad. Would I book there again, probably not.
