I stayed here for two weeks while working at a nearby semiconductor company.
My room was on the first floor and was a mini-suite - very spacious and comfortable, especially for a multi-week stay. Even though I was on the first floor and along the street, the room was very quiet. There was a small refrigerator, microwave oven, a sink and plates and utensils were provided in case you wanted to do some of your own food preparation.
The breakfast was very good and consistently so. There were the typical German meat, cheeses, muesli, and yogurt bar. The breads and pastries were excellent. A nice selection of juices and very good coffee. The hot items were always good and included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, another sausage, sometimes hash brown patties, and crepes.
The real delight was the staff, all of whom were friendly, helpful, professional, and spoke English well. I would like to particularly commend the front desk staff: Laura, Tamara, Sandra, and Hilli - all of whom were fabulous. When my colleague and I were looking for dinner but didn't feel like going out, Tamara showed us a menu from a pizza delivery place and placed our orders for us. By the way, the pizza was quite good by any standard. I give the front desk staff a total of six stars out of five.
As for the wi-fi, I found the free wi-fi service in my room and in the breakfast area more than adequate for email, web browsing, some update downloads, and even watching videos from the news stations back home.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the S-bahn station and a grocery (Tengelmann) and "drugstore" (Rossman). There is a real drugstore (apotheke) nearby which was really handy when I needed some high powered cold medicine. There is also a bank and ATM next to the apothecary. It is slightly longer walk to the Unterhaching pedestrian plaza where there are several restaurants.
I expect to work again with this semiconductor company and look forward to returning to the NH Hotel in Unterhaching. read more
