The room is comfortable with a great queen-size bed. The shower gives new meaning to the term "hotel shower." IYKYK. The breakfast is one of those huge European buffets with an amazing assortment of pastry, breads, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, savory cheeses and meats, yoghurt, and anything else you can imagine. With waiters bringing espresso. Europe is in the middle of a heat wave and the air conditioning is scrumptious. Queen Margherita herself would have been happy to have this hotel named for her. (I'm going to overlook dowager Queen Margherita's support for Mussolini in the 1920s.) Extra credit: pizza margherita was named for Regina Margherita in 1889.

It's in between the historic district and water. Fun restaurants to your left and right. If you choose to explore the historic area,, I suggest getting a cab to the top and walking down hill to the hotel. Some rooms have showers and baths and some only have showers. The showers are fantastic. Spa jets, great water pressure etc. Rooms are clean and modern. Excellent international breakfast bar. Great service at the front desk and ok bar and restaurant. Limited drink menu. But great wine.

The room was spacious, and even came with a balcony. On the balcony there were chairs and lounge chairs as well. Also the roof has another patio deck with a shower on top which was pretty impressive. The morning breakfast was very carb intensive, also did not change on a daily basis. Only thing that was disappointing was the $10 euro for each beach towel for the duration of the stay, and for me slightly too firm of a mattress for my liking. The hotel is located a short walk to the Poetto Beach, which during the summer is overcrowded with teens and kids. It was our mistake to pick this beach during July, the staff were very friendly and if you are coming to Poetto Beach for the price and the free breakfast and good coffee this place is great. If you are looking for a resort where there's more opportunity to getaway from kids, you may want to consider another part of Sardinia. We picked this place because it was close enough to town wanting good Sardinian food. The bus cost us $2.60 euro round trip to and from per each person. A taxi was around $17 euro into town one way, and $31 euro from the airport one way. The best part was the service from Luigi, he has good recommendations and is very useful and speaks good English.

English I ate at the…read morerestaurant today and let me say the food was absolutely awful, I ordered the mussel soup and what came were 9 edible open mussels which were decent and about 20 closed mussels which i couldn't eat. When i told the waiter he just shrugged and returned it to the kitchen. I then ordered the tuna tartare. That was worse. It was as if i went and bought a lump of raw tuna and chewed on it. Also, my daughter ordered the beef steak with rocket and parmesan. It was over cooked gristle, there was no meat to be found in the gristle at all. I then wanted to order a dessert and was told the kitchen was closed. I have been a chef for 15 years and have never ever experienced this before, as a chef you should never close the kitchen whilst there are still diners. Service was shocking as well and was charged a ridiculous amount of money. Having been to Sardinia 4 times this is the worst restaurant i have eaten in and that's saying a lot! The location is alright, but if it's a nice location your after, try heading up to the east coast. They have a reserve there so no one can fish meaning it is ten times as beautiful. The room was spacious, high ceiling, shower and bath was very modern and felt luxurious. Great A/C, even though it was 32 degrees outside, my room was cool and I could relax and decide the temperature on my own. Wifi was working well, I was able to work without any problem. Location is great, close to train station, restaurants and also the shopping area. I was never more than 5-10 min of walk away from restaurants. The staff was very kind and helpful. The only two things that could be better: the room didn't have an iron, so I was not able to iron my clothes for business dinners etc, however the hotel as an iron service, but that has to be planned in. The breakfast buffet was amazing, but due to corona you could not take things yourself, you had to point and explain exactly what you wanted (butter, which bread, which juice, which cereal, how many tomatoes, cheese slices etc) , which was a bit difficult if you didn't speak Italian.
