This hotel, in a lovely quiet neighborhood called Schwabing, in north Munich, is a great find. If…read moreyou want to be in the middle of downtown Munich, where you can walk out the door and into public transportation, this place is not for you. If, on the other hand, you want a quiet retreat after a day of touring, then try this place. Remember, the taxi from the airport will cost you €90+, so use the train to the city center and take a taxi from there to the hotel, or call an Uber. From Jerry, a retired and knowledgeable GI who mans the door, to Ivan, a tireless and gregarious server in the bar-restaurant, to Chiara and the very helpful front desk staff, this is a customer-forward team. The hotel has the amenities you expect: pool, fitness center, and good restaurants. It's also convenient to a small supermarket a block away, a first class Italian bakery next to the market, and a very good Indian restaurant, only a block farther away, run by a lovely lady. The street is lined with trees, and taxis queue in the hotel driveway. Buffet breakfast is a treat at €19, and features the freshest ingredients and a wide variety of choices. Serve yourself a cappuccino or latte, and have fresh rolls, bread, breakfast pastries, and croissant. Eggs and omelets, pancakes, sausages, plus assorted cheeses, lox, and other condiments, fruits, and salads are all available. If you're like me, you'll eat enough breakfast to make it your main meal, having a small snack in the afternoon and a light dinner. If you fancy that light dinner in the Marriott, Ivan will provide recommendations for both food and drinks. Going to hear music? Ask Jerry, at the door, about jazz, blues, and other music venues in town. In case you haven't taken my point, I loved this hotel. Marriotts are always a quality brand, but the personnel and amenities at this one are excellent. I'm coming back.

When you first enter the room at night it's completely dark and you don't know the main switch is by the bed. BAD planning. The large breakfast buffet has many choices. Don't think I would stay here if I wasn't part of a group. Would prefer to stay near town center.

Sadly, we had a horrible service attitude experience at the bar - an experience that cost the hotel a very high amount in business, hence only good and not very good. Other than that highly recommended.

Probably the closest is the BMW Museum, which is about a 7 minute drive. There is a cute Biergarten across the street and some restaurants scattered around. Nothing super traditional though. Outdoor seating to enjoy in the morning while you're waiting for work. The hotel staff was relatively ok during my stay. The weather was very hot while I was in town for work and the rooms did not have AC. I'm convinced about this because not only did I sweat like a pig all night, but my other co worker also had some serious issues. He was smart and moved rooms at least. Ordered room service twice and the food was alright. The pizza was ok. Not a lot of flavor. The Rilano burger was a bit over cooked, but the flavors from the sauce were pretty decent. I also had breakfast 2 mornings and they had a good variety there. Lots of beverages, continental style breakfast, but some traditional German items. The rooms were nothing special. Two twins pushed together = a full bed. Nothing out of the ordinary for the EU. I wish I had taken a picture of the TV because it was teeeeeny. Ended up just watching stuff on my iPad since I felt the screen was probably bigger ( slight exaggeration). Overall, ok stay. Again, wouldn't stay here for vacation. But the convenience is great if you are working from the Amazon.DE offices.

**Stay away if you value your health and dignity!**…read more I don't even know where to begin with my disastrous stay at Star G, but I can confidently say this was the worst hotel experience of my life--and possibly one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Let's start with the health hazard: mold. Within hours, I started experiencing symptoms--headaches, sinus pressure, and coughing--that continued not only during my stay but well into the weeks after I left. My vacation was ruined, my health was compromised, and this hotel is 100% to blame. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was met with *disbelief* and *defensiveness*. They denied any mold issues outright--despite the fact that a quick Google search revealed at least **12 other public reviews** complaining about the same thing! Their dismissive, rude attitude made it clear they care more about dodging accountability than addressing a serious problem that puts their guests at risk. This wasn't just a bad stay; this was an outright health violation. The fact that management would rather gaslight their guests than take responsibility is beyond reprehensible. It's abundantly clear this hotel has no interest in basic maintenance, much less ensuring guest safety. Do yourself a favor: read the other mold complaints, trust them, and *stay far, far away*. There are plenty of places to stay that won't leave you sick and frustrated. Star G is a health hazard, plain and simple, and the only thing worse than the mold was the appalling way they handled my complaint. One star is too generous.

I had a problem with the shower, saying it was simply not staying at the intended position and always moving down, what makes the morning more tricky as it is anyway ;) If you want to walk downtown. don't even think about it ... it's a hell of a walk. Either you take the next taxi or you should try to find a station and take the tram or bus. Last but least, they have a parking garage at the end of the street with some parking lots marked with the hotel name. Either you drive in directly or ring the bell...
