The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Eric checked me in quickly and thanked me for being a Marriott Elite member. He took the time to offer me a few different upgrades. In the end I chose the King room, balcony with river view. I rarely have a vehicle, but this time I did have a rental car. Parking is 25 Euro per day in their underground, covered garage. The room was screaming for renovation. The often-used wood areas of the furnishings were all worn down. The green carpet - well, I do not think I need to say anything more about that! The bed was hard as a rock, but the sheets were of good cotton quality as were the feather pillows. Without those quality sheets, this bed would have been very uncomfortable, as I prefer a softer bed. The bathroom was dark, and the wall tile reminded me of being at grandma's house! Aside from the decorative items, the room was very clean. The balcony was absolutely wonderful as the day I visited the weather was beautiful. I spent a few hours sitting on that balcony getting some work done while enjoying the view of the river. This property has a club level lounge for elite members. It was open until 2300 daily and had an evening reception with wine and beer. The lounge also had a large outdoor deck, also with great views of the river. The lounge attendant was very attentive. The food offerings were a bit bland, but the wine was good! This property has a very nice restaurant in the lobby and an indoor pool is also available. This property really tries hard with the hotel it has. If the rooms were updated, I could easily give this property a 5-star rating. For now, I will be rating this hotel with 4 stars.

Bathroom was a good size, hubby and were able to get ready at the same time. Sauna was available for 5 euros but we opted out, apparently you can only go in butt naked. No thank you.... Breakfast was also good, upgrade from the typical continental breakfast you get from 3-4 stars hotel. Hotel was too dark for my taste, felt a bit claustrophobic.

The room is fairly tiny and meant to house your luggage and your bodies on the beds. There are a few plugs to charge all of your devices. Every B&B is different so you may have plugs by your bedside or across the room - it all depends. The showers are compact but plenty roomy even for tall people (none of us are tall but it is an observation as I had a lot of room being "fun size".) The decor is modern, minimalist, and bright. I'd say their beds rival the comfort of even a Doubletree hotel but that could have been the high perception I have from that sweet sweet AC. The breakfasts are tasty - lots of variety and options for everyone. I found myself rather fond of German breakfasts. Hard boiled eggs are a staple. They also have a really fresh and cheery decor in the common areas. Would be happy to return to a B&B any time! Will post photos of one of our rooms.

There is an entrance to the lift which takes you to the lobby direct from the parking level, seems to be a pretty standard thing with most new hotel I have experienced in Germany. The hotel is easy on the eye but be warned at the time of writing this there was a lot of building works in the area so views maybe restricted! My room was nice and tidy with all the amenities you expect in a modern hotel. The wet room shower was clean and everything worked as you would expect. I guess in the summer my room suffers from a lot of sun light as it came equipped with an electric external blind! The bed was comfy although I never understand the two duvet thing!! The restaurant/bar is not the biggest but is nicely laid out with casual seating areas along with more formal dining areas. They have a wide range of cocktails and an extensive menu. The meals were a good portion size and definitely hit the spot. As you would expect the staff were all multi lingual, friendly and helpful. I'm told it's location is ideal to walk into the old town, I didn't have time to see if this was true but if it is that's another plus point.
