The cabin we rented also had a nice little outdoor seating area with a fire pit. That cabin was pretty small; just a double bed with a pull-out sofa which I slept on... except that it was quite uncomfortable so on my second night I opted to just sleep on the couch without it being pulled out. There is wifi in the lounge area but it didn't reach our cabin. Rental cars can't be brought onto Culebra at all, so the staff will reach out to you and pick you up at the ferry pier, then drop you off after you check out. We needed the dropoff ride at 6:30 AM and that was no problem for them. Nice staff, especially Carlos who was so very accommodating. We mostly puttered around the island during this stay, but it would be a very comfortable place to relax for an extended period.

It faces the Ensenada Honda Bay and the Muelle Municipal (in case you have a boat). The view of the bay from the balcony is amazing. The hotel has a restaurant but it is currently closed (since the pandemic started). When it was open the food was really good. Great selection of beers. The rooms don't have kitchens but you are in town, which means you are close to everything. Zaco's Tacos is across the street. Pancafé Bakery (Pandeli) is perfect for breakfast and is 1 min away. Dinghy Dock, Caracoles, and Mamacita's are very close for lunch, dinner, and drinks. Heather's Pizza and The Spot (dive bar) are a little further away, but still walking distance. You also have Colmado Milka close to stock up on food and drinks for the beach. And you have La Galeria de Regalos nearby for shopping, as well as a few other businesses. In other words, the location is fantastic. The only negative is that being in town means you are far from the beaches. You will need to rent a jeep/golf cart or call a taxi to reach beaches like Flamenco, Tamarindo, and Carlos Rosario. The hotel has private parking. Also, note that there is no front desk. It is self check-in and you are basically on your own. I recommend this hotel if you are staying in town.

When I arrived I was checked in and given a tour of the attractive property by the staff member on duty. My room was spacious and comfortable along with the bathroom that had a shower in it. The ac worked well too. The TV was a smaller screen that I think was less than 32" and was mounted high up on the wall so TV watching could be better. The room had a small refrigerator in it. Shortly after checking in I received a series of text messages from the owner regarding information about Isabel II such as restaurants nearby, grocery stores, taxi info, tour companies, etc, which was helpful. Bravo Beach is well maintained with 2 freshwater pools and less than 20 rooms all with outdoor facing entrances. It is located directly on the water with a beach but swimming is not allowed or desired from the shell beach however the beach is available for walking. The hotel does offer the free use of beach supplies like coolers and folding chairs, etc. if you need them. They do have their own small parking lot and more parking next to the hotel but I'm not sure they have enough parking if all of their rooms are full. The hotel is located about a 6-7 minute walk from the ferry terminal. If I returned to Vieques I would be happy to stay at Bravo Beach Hotel again.

Took us a while to find but happy we did at the end. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early for our check in and were able to enjoy the swimming pools and bar. Ordered some local food from the pool, everything was very good ( cordon blue, tostones, fried chicken, fried pork). The jacuzzi did. It work but everything else was in good condition. There's wild chicken and cats roaming around as well as some pretty awesome looking iguanas. We only stayed for 1. Night. 2 days but room was also nice and air cold. There's mosquitoes , so bring bug spray , although they do provide. You get one parking in front of your guys house. They also provide extra towels and blankets to use.

Reservations: I called "Posada La Hamaca" to make a reservation. The credit card you provide to…read morehold the reservation will be charged in full for the entire stay. I was not told of this when I made the reservation until I got the email confirmation stating that the credit card was already charged. Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is 10:00am. Location: Located in town, it's a 7 to 10 minute walk from the ferry station. If you don't already have a map of Culebra, ask a local person as none of the streets have name markings. La Hamaca is conveniently located walking distance to town, restaurants, grocery stores and ferry station. Arrival: Ricardo, the reception desk clerk, had our room and key ready when we arrived in his very tiny reception area, which looks more like an overcrowded closet with shelves on top overflowing with boxes, toiletries, messy papers and the likes. He is very friendly and, while not forthcoming in providing information, once you ask him, he tells you everything you need to know. He was more interested in getting back to the computer to play his online games than to help and assist guests. Room / Cleanliness: Once we entered, Room #9 had a room deodorizer that smelled like caramel. The room had an' area with a microwave, a dorm-style refrigerator, and a couple of bar stools. Room had no carpet. I took my sandals off and I felt "things" under my feet. I had to put the sandals back on. We had a full size kitchen (no oven) with sketchy supplies and coffee maker. The sponges were dirty, an old and overused cleaning rag, and no basic necessities such as dish-soap provided. I ran hot water in the coffee pot a few times and then I poured the hot water over the coffee cups, spoons and plates. At least that would get supplies better cleaned and disinfected. We had two double beds in the room. The beds were partially made. The blanket was just laying under the pillows and you had to set up your own bed. The Posada offers housekeeping services every 3 days only. Beach towels are provided at the desk. They are old and overused. The one I was given had some stains in it and the other one was shredding away. There is a cooler in the room to take to the beach if you want to. The television was really high on top of the 'closet cabinet' which had no doors, a shelve on the floor (fell off and no one had fixed it) and no hangers. It was a science to figure out how the TV remote worked. It took me the 2-full days I was there to do so. Air-conditioning unit was located in the ceiling over the kitchenette and it was very rusty. We did not bother even touching it or turning it on. Bathroom: Shower had no light so when you close the curtain you could barely see anything, rusting rod, dirty shower curtain, sink that would 'wobble', not hot water pressure out of the sink and just yucky. The bathroom door did not close properly and made an awful noise every time you opened or closed it. Amenities: The hotel has a dock with a couple of tables and two chairs in the back facing the water which could use some sprucing up. No other amenities. There are city maps on a shelve in front of the 'reception' window and a few informational pamphlets hanging of the cork-board in the hallway. Overnight Experience: Since the Posada is next to "Mamacitas" bar, there is a constant flow of loud people walking by our windows, being noisy and obnoxious. Then, in the early morning hours, you do hear the roosters from across the street, trucks and traffic. We barely slept and most of my sleep I did while laying at the beach. If you cannot reserve a room facing the water or the back of the hotel, do not book here. The street noise will keep you up all night. Checkout: As we already pre-paid our stay, there was nothing to do than to give our room key. After seeing how this place is run, I think the 10:00 am check-out time is a little extreme, counting the fact that the place has a few rooms, housekeeping is offered every 3-days only and the cleaning job is minimal. However, the hotel offers a shower and 'lockers' to leave your bags while you enjoy your last day in Culebra. Final Score: Reservations: 2.5 out of 5.0 Location: 4.0 out of 5.0 Arrival Experience: 2.5 out of 5.0 Room/Cleanliness: 1.0 out of 5.0 Bathroom: 0.5 out of 5.0 Hotel Amenities: 1.5 out of 5.0 Overnight Experience: 0.0 out of 5.0 Checkout Experience: 2.0 out of 5.0 Final Score: 14 out of 40 / 35% or F Grade Final Comments: While the location is great, I would avoid staying here, unless you want to party all night and be in the middle of town. I recommend going to Bahia Marina or Sea Breeze Hotel. These are located a bit inland (probably need to rent a car or rely on the very unreliable taxi services) but the crowd is more upscale, views are panoramic and amazing, great hotel amenities such as restaurants, bar, pools, clean and modern rooms and friendlier staff.

A walk to the ferry and restaurants. The back sitting porch is right in the canal-a lovely quiet nook to drink a beer and watch the tarpon swim by. Relatively cheap. Fridge and cooler provided. The cons: The room smelled sickeningly sweet like pineapple coconut upside down cake. We had to remove the plug in air freshener and hide it in the fridge and open all the windows. The beds had no top sheets on them, just a blanket. The bedside light was falling apart and the lightbulb out. You can here all the car and street noise out the window. The sheets had crusty glue stains on them. The towels, while clean, we're stained and tattered. The plug on the far side if the room is being pulled out if the wall with wires everywhere, and gets stuck on the side if the bed. Hair was left on the bathroom floor and in the shower. I hope this was a fluke because he people that owned it were quite kind, but needless to stay we cancelled our second and third nights and moved elsewhere.

Breakfast each morning was scrumptious and the coffee was strong and tasty. They provided beach chairs, beach umbrella, coolers and ice, and unlimited beach towels. We didn't get to try the pool, but it looked nice! 4 ft deep all around so good for folks looking to lounge. We stayed in the Deluxe King room (room 6) and the natural light streaming in throughout the day and the ocean views were perfect. If you're planning on spending some time on the balcony of this room, bring your bug spray! Overall, highly recommend. We'd stay here again!

I can't agree with the other reviewer more on the fact that it is quite possibly the awesome-est place to stay ever...and very difficult to describe the overwhelming amount of charm. time kinda stops (which is really nice if you are on vacation.) if you enjoy languid porch swings, fluffy clouds, beautiful views, sunkissed cheeks, peaceful hammocks, rum drinks, floating in water, watching lizards, carefree afternoons, sweet tropical fruits, beach glass, cat-naps + quiet-time this is the place for you! we didn't have to share a bathroom, because we rented the cabanita. it has it's own bathroom - a private outdoor shower. (oh bliss!) a tiny kitchenette...with fridge and two burner stove + it's own front porch. La Finca has many options for different types of travelers. The community house has shared bathrooms and kitchen and some little bed rooms like a hostel. It has a breezy open indoor/outdoor quality and plenty of perfect spots for a nap. There are larger more "luxury" cabins also that are secluded and less communal throughout the property... OR you and 49 of your closest friends could rent the entire place for a week! this option would be great for a big party, retreat, family re-union, wedding, yoga intensive, etc. -the salt water pool is amazing! it feels healing for your skin and doesn't stink like chlorine! but none of it is what you might be used to. the linens and towels don't match, there are no tvs, internets, newspapers, telephones, etc. no one wears shoes that much. they might rent you a convertible car without a top (and it might rain that day.) people are so completely laid back that there isn't even glass in any the windows! i felt really lucky to have landed in such a beautiful, down to earth place. The Inn Keepers are super kind and helpful and will make you feel right at home. Go when it isn't tourist season (late spring+summer) and you will find yourself totally alone on a crystal clear blue beach swimming with tropical fish for hours at a time. We felt so free, we got naked! La Finca and all of the island is really pretty rural -you'll have to be able to entertain yourself. bring books, instruments, crafts, bikes, rafts and bug spray! all we did the entire time we were there was: read, swim, drink, eat, drive around beach hopping and sleep. a real relaxing vacation!!! my only beware: the non-puerto rican transplants that have spent entirely too much time in the sun and burnt some of their brains off can talk/get/act/look really wacky. BUT: If you have never felt a trade wind, seen the stars without light pollution, taken a dip with glowing phytoplankton, photographed wild ponies or eaten a fresh tamarindo....you really have no idea what you are missing.

Don't judge a book by it's cover! I drove to the property to check it out a week before my stay and was a little concerned by the location, esthetics, and the (lower) cost. But once I actually went and checked in, I was freaking stoked!!! Penny (the Owner) greeted me upon arrival, was a wealth of information for the island, food, snorkeling, horseback riding etc. She showed me both my rooms and already had cold water waiting in the fridge. Penny and Kelly (manager) were so wonderful; they added so much value to my stay. The rooms were really good size, extremely clean and very, very comfortable. The views from both were amazing! I will definitely be back! (They also offer horseback riding)

Now be prepared as from 2-3 am the local chickens are quite consistently vocal until a bit after 7. Quite common in the Caribbean but if you aren't prepared it can be an adjustment. There is no food or beverage service here but lots of good food options very close. I highly recommend renting a jeep rather than a golf cart as the terrain is quite hilly and many of the beaches are down unpaved gravel roads. The hotel has a small but quite pleasant pool. You also have to take a ferry from the main island to get here. Plan ahead. The ferry only sells 20% of the tickets ahead of time and only 2-3 weeks in advance. This is the main method of transportation for the majority of the local residents If you make the trip stay at least a couple nights. The beauty and serenity will awe you.

This is truly a gem on the little island of Viequea. Penny the owner and the charm of the property make it 5 Star. The hotel looks like it was built back in the 60 but it has been very well kept and the grounds, amenities and the views make it special. At $120 per night you get a kitchen with a frig, stove and microwave, sitting area with a table to eat and a huge balcony with a table, lounge chairs and a hammock and did I mention the view?
