When coming to this little town of Barra de Navidad there isn't many options as where to stay. Most are small economical hotels like this one. This hotel is not on the beach and is steps from it. It has various rooms and a small reception area where the guy that checks you in never seems to be at.
When we arrived no one was there. I had to call him and he said he would be back in 10 minutes like really casually. Didn't care about check in time even though I was early.
House keeper checked us in and took us to the last room available the "suite". It is a basic room that is spacious (see video) and has a ceiling fan and AC.
Its on the 3d floor and has a crappy TV with a balcony and bathroom. The view from the balcony is nice you can see everything.
The furniture is very rustic and dated but clean. Towels were 2 and that was it. You can walk to everything from here. Store, bars, restaurants. Barra is small. So thats a plus.
We spent all afternoon at my sister in laws hotel and when we got back even though the AC was left on the room is barely tolerable. I even have the fan on and its just barely cutting it. Its summer and hot as heck and humid.
But I think if your a baller on a budget and not picky about luxury this is the place for you. With taxes it was 1,400 pesos a night. 3 people can easily sleep here and they do have a safe.
The door has a very simple lock on it but its all families around here and is safe. You also see a lot of little lizards all over the place.
Noise factor: I can hear the music from the bars nearby but were so tired from sun and sand at this point that it doesn't even bug me.
There is only 1 luxury hotel in Barra and this is not it. But for this price what do you expect? We check out tomorrow but at least now I know another option here. I can handle 1 night. I hope???? :/ read more
