Stayed for 6 days/five nights and had an awesome experience. As the name states, this was an apartment, so a little different in that the room had a stove with 2 burners, towel warmer, dishwasher, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot....which was everything we needed. You don't get daily towel service or room cleaning, which I prefer and I was able to just move in and not worry about anyone bothering me. We bought the breakfast in the restaurant which was convenient. Very close to 2 train stops (Luma and Sickla Kaj) which helped us get around tremendously. I will return to this location again.

We followed the google commuter route suggestion and got here within 1.5 hours using the 3 day travelers pass, no extra cost. The 74 bus also takes you to Stanskull underground train to Central. Keycard provided needed to get up elevators which is a good security measure. This hotel has a sauna and workout floor at the penthouse on 15th with great views of the ski slope. Room has wide window to look out from. Water pressure is fantastic for the shower and shower gel provided. A yelper commented about no toilet paper, but maybe staff just forgot about it that time. Tea and coffee making facility with a kettle. Tap water is drinkable! Room has a safe and heating temp is perfect this cold Feb night.

Birds are singing and you can see and hear the water just down the hill. The service was amazing. And decorations and art on the walls were beautiful and tasteful. We spent a lot of time in the spa area in both the outdoor and indoor pool. We also enjoyed a five course dinner at night. The food was amazing and the service as well. I would recommend this place for anyone: romantic getaway, bachelorette/bachelor parties, weddings, just relaxing weekend on the Swedish country side. Would also be happy to go back.

Last August we stayed in central Stockholm near the train station at a very good hotel. Motel L is in a neighborhood called Hammersby, which is a bit outside of the central area so we were concerned about the location. It worked out great. Hammersby is a nice, quiet area and the hotel is on the main avenue with many restaurants and an ICA supermarket and pharmacy right next door. The 30 tram stops right outside the front of the hotel and we were able to easily get to all locations and areas of Stockholm using mass transit, or walking about 30 minutes. Motel also has a 25% off deal with an Italian restaurant called Grandi about a 10 minute walk. Grandi was very good and even better with the 25% discount. Motel L is clean and in very good condition. There is ample seating in the lobby area to relax and the breakfast room is also very nice. Breakfast was substantial, fresh, and had many choices. My wife and I had to resist overeating breakfast was so good. The staff kept re-stocking so everything was always available; the bread was so fresh and so good. Another plus is that unlike many hotels, breakfast on weekdays lasted until 10 am and on weekdays until 11 am-perfect for us! The people at the front desk were welcoming and very helpful. I'd like to give a shoutout to the frontdesk people I dealt with-May, Oliver,Alex, Yallen, Reuben, and Naiomi. Also to one of the breakfast people-Hendrik but everyone helping with breakfast was great. Two very minor things to note and be aware of-the hotel doesn't have a guest computer or washer/dryer. Bottom line, would we stay at Motel L again? Absolutely and we will on our next visit to Stockholm. P.S The rooms have lots of outlets and you have to look on the left side of the bed where there's a cubby hole with hangers for clothes. It isn't obvious so you can miss it at first. There's a bar and coffee station in the lobby, the lobby is very inviting.

We had a reservation in this hotel for GastroNord 2020. After the Swedish government canceled all…read morethe events due to pandemic situation with corona virus, we had to cancel our trip. Moreover, we live in Spain, which today is a risk country with more that 5000 corona-virus cases. My husband and me might have caught the virus already. Spain is in "alarm situation with restrictions". All that we explained to the owner of the hotel (Michel Källstrom) and he just said that he will go bankruptcy because of our cancelation (3 nights). I don't know if this person reads news, it looks like not. You can't run your business abusing the customers and the situation, that is inhuman and illegal. We didn't want to cancel, it is the pandemy that happened, it is a "force majeure" that cancels everything. So no, i don't recommend the hotel which is abusing its customers. I know that they will delete this message as they have just done with the message of my husband, but i will write this post every day for them.
