The whole bathroom, shower included, is one level, so water from the shower just spreads out during the shower, and then retreats following. It does not leave the bathroom, or get over by the sink too much, but it was not what I was used to. (It is not a situation where you are showing with the toilet, there are distinct spaces.) The location almost immediately adjacent to the train station makes getting from the airport to the hotel a breeze. Easy walk to either where you need to go, or public transportation. I recommend!

The bed is quite comfy and I liked the scrunchy pillows. We slept great with our window open to allow for fresh air...I think we were lucky that the late night revelers were not under our window while we slept. The breakfast buffet (included in room price) in the morning is one of the best I've seen in my many years of travel. It rivals the 5-star hotels where you have to pay extra for a buffet with the number of choices this breakfast offered. Everything from as fresh and tasty. You'd have to hate food to dislike this buffet. We had an early flight, day of our checkout so we only enjoyed the buffet once. However, the hotel staff made up to-go breakfast bags for us sent us off with nutritious sandwiches, fruits, and drink. Where do you get that service?!?! The lobby of the the hotel is roomy and very comfortable. There are many places to work, lounge, or read without feeling other guests are too close. It was nice to relax in this hotel. The price of our rooms were ~ $200 per night so I was very pleased with the hotel for all that it offered. It's close to shopping, transportation hubs, and a 20 minute walk to Old Town.

Although the Victory is in the heart of Gamla Stan it is relatively quiet in the area late at night and early mornings....good sleep was in the cards for us. The tram stops in the center traffic island steps from the front door of the hotel! With one stop on tram, I had access to several metro lines to venture around the city very easily. I plan to eat breakfast away from the hotel on tomorrow, but I will try the breakfast before my stay ends. Breakfast is only 125 SEK (about $12.50 at the time of this review) if you book on a platform such as Expedia that offers a rate without breakfast. It is only my first night, but I am impressed and I recommend this establishment so long as having a refrigerator is not a deal-breaker for you.

When we first checked into our room, it was teeeeny tiny. It reminded me of a cruise ship bedroom, and the bathroom felt even smaller than that with a shower stall I could barely turn around in. Since we were staying for 3 days, I asked the front desk if upgrade options were available. The front desk attendant was very kind and understanding, even giving us a discounted upgrade since it was late at night. She even offered me a key to check out the new room on a higher floor before I decided. We were much happier in the larger room! I especially liked all of the hotel's cute details when it comes to service... magnetic door hearts made it easy to request room cleaning or privacy, they left us an Easter card and chocolates, and each room had a small stuffed bear that you could "adopt" with charitable proceeds (it worked on me, of course!) This hotel is in an area with great public transportation. We found a fantastic restaurant a few blocks away, we were 2-3 blocks from a shopping promenade, and it was pretty easy to get to Gamla Stan/Old Town by walking or train. But then that day we got a no-show charge via email and worried housekeeping would pack up our belongings with the room showing as unoccupied in their system, so upon our return from that day's interrupted activities we had to sort it out. They checked us in (again) but this time for realsies and they said the no-show charge was the same as the room charge so our 4-night stay became officially a 3-night stay. I'm still not sure if the rate stayed the same but it all seemed more or less fixed at the time... but now Marriott Bonvoy isn't giving me credit for the room night and the points so I'm still dealing with it weeks later which is crazy because we were there. So annoying. But the hotel really was nice. The room was spacious, the lounge was beautiful with an enormous multistory chandelier and the breakfast really was epic. Lots to see via short walks, meals, destinations and transit access in every direction. Nice place.

With six of us traveling they offer a room that has a sofa bed which was perfect for our the two children with us (one child stayed with us) while the other was with their grandparents. The rooms were so spacious for Europe with beautiful parquet floors, comfortable beds, and a well appointed bathroom. Our room also offered a lovely balcony overlooking a courtyard and a view of the river. The location can't be beat for this hotel with convenient access to tram and bus and our first day where we hadn't sorted out public transit we managed to walk from the central station and it was a relatively flat walk. Where this hotel was amazing was the service. We booked this hotel for three days and the gentleman upon check in was so friendly (a Pakistani who had met a lovely lady in Sweden and recognized my Indian parents surname). His extreme kindness helped us start our visit on the right step. We had dinner the first night at the hotel and the food was not only good but the service amazing again. For breakfast we fortunately had familiar faces with a lady who kindly remembered our coffee orders and another gentleman (Channah) who has worked here for 35 years and was so kind and attentive. They all seem to love what they are doing and imparted such kindness that were blown away (we've stayed at nice hotels before like a Mandarin Oriental at Hong Kong) but really impressed how the staff goes above and beyond here.

They also managed to fit an ironing board into the wardrobe so the space was used in an efficient manner. The room and furniture felt a bit on the old side but still functional and most importantly it felt clean. The bathroom was also small but they managed to squeeze in a bathtub. I had a good sleep 3 out of 4 nights at this hotel. Normally I am not bothered by noise but on the night between Saturday and Sunday there was a lot of noise from the bar/restaurant at the ground level so it was a bit difficult to sleep. The breakfast at the hotel was slightly above standard for a Swedish hotel. They could however do with some variety. I stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast was exactly the same every single day -a bit boring. Service was OK, they had some issues with the Internet access codes but it was solved. Could have been quicker from a service perspective but they were always polite and friendly. Overall a good and solid choice for those who wish to be in the middle of the city.
