I was surprised I didn't find Hotel Helios, Antibes, France listed on this site. Maybe most people would rather be in Monaco or Cannes. It would be a mistake to miss the older fishing villages such as Antibes. And if you do decide to go there then let me recomment the Hotel Helios rather than some resort or newer hotel on the waterfront.
Hotel Helios is an older but wonderful hotel located one block from a sandy...yes, I said sandy..private beach. They own two lovely piers and two very good and very classy restaurants on the beach.
The hotel staff speaks English and is very helpful and goes out of their way to meet all your needs. The rooms are large..for France...with a balcony either to the street or the sea, both are large with table and chairs. Down mattresses, pillows and coverlets on the large beds, table and chairs in room, large flat screen TV, more closets than you can use unless traveling with a family of four! There is a well stocked mini-bar and anything you might want or need, just ask. There is a bar inside the hotel and for breakfast there is a wonderful little cafe downstairs with a really well done buffet. The buffet is bountiful with eggs (scrambled or poached to order), sausages or a variety of hams, French pastries, toast, jams and jellies and bowls of fresh fruits. There are selections of yogurts, cheeses and cereals. You will find coffee, juices, hot chocolate and tea. All this with a wait staff to help you. AND this is included in the price of the room.
The price of the room is oh so reasonable for this type hotel, service and location. We actually found and booked our reservation through a website.
The entire area is alive with entertainment and wonderful places to shop and eat yet it's not the noisy tourist beach type town. It's only six miles into Cannes or six miles into Nice. All the cab drivers know exactly where Hotel Helios is located which gives me a thumbs up.
I would absolutely stay there again. read more
