The reason why I am giving this hotel a three star review has to do with the lack of a few things…read more First it does not have any air conditioning which is pretty normal for this area but the windows can't be open at night because there are no screens. Again pretty normal. But it makes for a very oppressive stay when the weather is hot. Which it was in the beginning of July. Also, on one of the nights of my stay there was a wedding and things got pretty loud with the music and partying. A group were staying on the next floor and they pretty much spent the entire night celebrating. Don't get me wrong I am all for that but they should put the party on the lower floor and not directly over someone. The management was nice enough to comp one night of my stay but it doesn't makeup for a very hot sleepless night. Other than that the property is very well situated with commanding views of Lake Constance.

For dinner we were eating at "Wave Emily". Eventhough it has "only" 13 Gault Millau Points it was outstanding! In my opinion totally more than 13 Gault Millau deserved. All the courses i had were excellent and very special. Really recommandable! 5/5 Service: Very attentive, friendly and informative. The timing was as you expect at such a price-class and very well educated. 5/5 Spa: They have a good variety to go for a wellness. Incl. an outdoor whirlpool and fireplaces in the inside which look very cool! 5/5 Bar: The bar has a very good atmosphere (with fireplaces and beautiful views) and good stuff. Unfortunately not such a great variety of alcohol 4/5 Atmosphere: The whole restaurant is designed kinda like a boat. A lot of wood and metal. It looks really nice and the rooms are good-looking too. They are a little but older but still in good shape 5/5 (for rooms 4/5) Location. JUST WOW! It is situated at a very big lake (which sometimes looks like the ocean) and the view is just amazing. 6/5.

Check in was easy and comes with a welcome drink (juice and sparkling cider wine). They have a large wellness area complete with a pool, jacuzzi, cabanas (though overlooked by the restaurant balcony), spa, and a co-ed area where you'll find sauna (at 65 and 80), cold plunge, steam room, and a relaxation room. Easy to spend a lot of time here zenning out. Dinner is a mix of buffet for apps (sushi, cold cuts, soup, tartare, salad) and a entree you can choose from 3 options). I would get there a bit early as by the final 45 min, they mostly stop refilling the buffet for app. Though buffet section for desserts always available. Service is great. We mentioned we were going to depart before breakfast and they packed us some to go meals the night before. Free parking and lovely view of hills and stars. Would recommend

Friendly personnel and everyone spoke English well enough. The room I had was on the top floor with a nice balcony with a view of the church and the Munot fortress. Other than the balcony the room was fairly standard with a nice big bed, mini-bar, free wifi (did not work all the time) and LCD-TV. What I did miss was coffee/tea making facilities as well as an iron and ironing board (there is an ironing room in the hotel but quality of it was awful -over 10 minutes to get any type of heat and not great even after that long wait). Bathroom was ok but the water in the shower varied greatly in heat and pressure. There is also no fitness centre/gym which is a major drawback. The breakfast was huge disappointment. No hot food (except for barely boiled eggs), awful selection of other things and coffee almost undrinkable. Still looking at the options in Schaffhausen it is still not that bad.

Zurich Airport was clean and had a ton of conveniences but it turned out to be a more stressful…read moreexperience than I expected. One thing that really surprised us was having to go through border control and customs on top of the already long security line before we entered certain terminals. It took us over an hour and a half to get through just border control and we hadn't expected that at all. Better signs or clearer communication about the process would have made a big difference. Getting from our plane to our next gate was also confusing. We were connecting on the same airline but after getting off the plane we had to take a tram to get to our next gate which was the SAME airline. The airport wasn't marked very well and we constantly second guessed if we were going in the right direction. On the positive side the food was never a problem here. Options seemed to be everywhere around the airport and there was a wide variety no matter where we were. We also liked that sleeping accommodations were available. They were a bit expensive for what you get but it was nice to have that option after a long trip or a long overnight layover like us. Overall Zurich Airport is clean and modern and offers lots of conveniences but I think they could greatly enhance passenger experience by having clearer signs and a process that is easier to understand.

Yelp Review 2026 #45:…read more I've flown in and out of ZRH a few times. With the recent implementation of the EES for non-EU citizens and people on social media freaking out over it, I was a bit anxious about how long I'll be standing in line for and saddened that EU countries will no longer be stamping passports. Some EU countries rolled out EES as early as end of 2025, everyone else waited until April 2026, 2-3 countries have an app to expedite the process. Switzerland? Well, there were no EES kiosks. You have to stand in line for an immigrations officer. What I found annoying was once immigrations officer who was not doing anything as the lines keep growing. All he did was confuse people to tell them to stand on this line only to tell them to go back to the end of the line then go to the next line. He did that to multiple people including myself. He's just toying with people at that point. Good thing I didn't have any plans after my arrival since I was anticipating being stuck at the airport for at least 2 hours. ZRH itself is quite nice. You can get last-minute chocolate shopping at Laderach or just enjoy a good cup of hot chocolate and chocolate cake at Sprüngli - both with multiple locations inside the airport. There's also plenty of decent eateries to choose from. Getting to the city and back is pretty easy. There are multiple ways to do so. Multiple trains that go to Zürich Hauptbahnhof that take under 20 minutes. The airport is easy to navigate. Signage is clear. Bathrooms are clean. Potable water even through tap.
