Cameo Heights Mansion - Wagyu with a chimichurri sauce and roasted asparagus from Chef Caleb

The mansion itself is gorgeous along with the salt water pool and botanicals. There was an accident that had caused some water to come into the room. Not a big deal to us at all, it was very minor. The owner was so kind and gave us an additional night for free! We got to really enjoy the mansion since we had another night. We took bubble baths, watched movies, played ping pong, and ate dinner at The Vine fine dining restaurant (my review for how amazing it was is separate from this one). We loved how calm and quiet everything was as there were no children allowed either. The wake up service was great AND the coffee was so good which is unheard of at most hotels. ;) Breakfast was indescribable, OMG!!! Top shelf chefs are employed here! Michelle and Jessica were very kind and accommodating during our trip. Overall a much needed stay that was absolutely perfect.

The property is stunning -- each room uniquely styled with international flair, from Italian and Spanish to French and even Dubai-inspired décor. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with a pool area that instantly transported us to Tuscany. There were plenty of loungers for relaxing by the sparkling swimming pool, plus a generously sized hot tub to unwind in. The staff truly elevated our stay -- warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special shoutout to Rosalina, who was an absolute gem. She made us feel so welcome and even surprised us with a homemade tres leches cake to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. That personal touch meant the world. We dined at the property one evening; the meal was enjoyable, though not quite exceptional. Still, the ambiance of the mansion more than made up for it. Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Walla Walla, Cameo Heights offers a peaceful retreat -- serene, secluded, and blissfully quiet. The only trade-off is the drive to and from wine tastings, which can feel a bit long at times. But once you're back, it's pure tranquility.

We were on a floor (that had 3 other rooms), which had a "station" outside our room, stocked with filtered water, ice/ice buckets, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, glassware, dishes, and cutlery. Bed and A/C/Heat were comfortable. We loved the variety of outdoor spaces where we had HH one afternoon and utilized the Hot tub another time. The best thing about this place was the service and hospitality....Pascal was very warm and welcoming, and responsive; his hospitality was exceptional!

Ok, I have to tell you about one of my old haunts. It's the town of Waitsburg. This tiny hamlet…read morehidden amongst the green grassy palouse is a step back in time. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, and it could easily be a town one would simply drive through, but if you look a little deeper you'll find gold. Up until recently, I would just stop by here for a magnificent cocktail (jimgermanbar), tasty Cajun fusion (Whoopemup), or a beer (Anchor Bar & Laht Neppur). But due to personal circumstances (a milestone birthday), it was decided we should stay local. So, we Googled around, and as you would expect, pickin's are slim. There are a few B&B's, rentals, etc., but many were booked up (that's what a thriving wine tourist industry does). As luck would have it, we were able to find the perfect place: :::: Seven Porches Guest House :::: Right on Main St Waitsburg, a few blocks south of all the cool establishments in town is Seven Porches. Now, I'm not sure how you'd classify this place. I wouldn't call it a Bed & Breakfast because breakfast isn't served in the morning, but it certainly does have beds. Staying here is like spending a night in someone's home. I mean you really are. When we arrived, the owner was out mowing the lawn. He and his son were staying in the basement at the time. They rent out SEVEN rooms on the 1st & 2nd floors. The home is HUGE! I can't believe one family called this home back in the day. From the outside, the place looks decent-sized and when you're inside, it's cavernous with high ceilings and lots of rooms. You do really feel like a guest in someone's home. Family photos adorn the walls. The kitchen is filled with the family's food. I saw a passport on a shelf. And I was awakened by a teenager's belch. :) Everything but the latter were nice, but it is what it is. This really is a guest house. I had to take a nap before my night of birthday debauchery, and it was weird to be shaken awake by some monster burps. If anything, it was something we laughed about. Overall, we really loved the place. It's quaint and the very old architecture was really cool. The owner is super nice (he also owns Coppei Coffee, and runs The Waitsburg Times). I'm still not sure if we were welcome to any of the food in the kitchen or whether we were ok to use the facilities. There is a TV room downstairs, and there is apparently free wifi (but I couldn't get on to it). Next time I'd like to stay over in Waitsburg, I'll definitely stay here!
