In brief, it is a good option for the Steglitz and greater Berlin area, but the ups are balanced by the downs. Pros: -Staff was well versed in German and English, so communication was easy. -Hotel was clean and well maintained. The exterior is dated, but the interiors were all fairly modern and up to date. The bathrooms in particular were very nice. -Exceptionally well located. Right next to the U-Bahn, the Bus, and not far from the S-Bahn. It is also central to Steglitz's shopping and dining district, so there are lots of great local options. -Mini-Bar pricing was surprisingly affordable, BUT there is an Edeka right next door that sells almost all the same items at about a Euro cheaper or more, so I don't know why they have a mini-bar at all. Cons: -Bed was extremely uncomfortable, and a room with two double beds was actually two single beds pushed together to form a pseudo-queen bed. -Very few amenities. No free breakfast (though this is usual in Europe), no microwave, no coffee maker in room, very limited mini-fridge space. -The wireless Internet is free, but absolutely sucks with extremely unreliable connections. I remember dial up speeds being faster. Plus, they limited you to three connections PER ROOM. I was traveling on business and my room-partner and I both had cell phones, tablets, and laptops we needed to connect. As a result, we only were able to get limited work done in the hotel. This is a BIG downside, especially given how much international business happens in Germany. -The bathrooms have a weird glass door that is virtually see-through. This is extremely awkward as it is both visible from the door and room itself. If you are sharing a room with a non-intimate travel companion, you are going to need to hang a towel over the door to give yourself privacy. I don't see any situation wherein a glass bathroom door is acceptable, to be honest.

Perhaps not the most expensive hotel but boy the staff is rude. You have the feeling that they…read moretreat you like an enemy. Hotel is dated. Breakfast is average for German standards. Would I return? No thank you.
