After…read morelooking at the reviews for the various choices available, I chose this place and my two colleagues followed suit. As it turned out, we were very happy with our selection. I came into Netherlands via a flight and then took a train from Schipol. Deventer was about an 80 - 90 minute train ride. From the train station, it was an €8 trip via taxi. I was running late due to flight delays and, in spite of the fact that the check-in desk closed at 22:00, they were very happy to accommodate me even though I arrived closer to midnight. When I arrived, they kept the bar open for my colleagues and I to use as a place to chat until nearly 1:00 AM. The young gentleman checking me in as well as the ladies taking care of the front desk and the breakfast area in the morning were extremely pleasant and accommodating. They were very efficient and helpful. They were quite approachable as well. The facility was on the edge of the town center area and had an elegant vintage feel. The bar area and dining room were both quite lovely. My room was on the second level and I found the accommodations to be much to my liking. The room kept with the vintage theme featuring rafters and beams. The decor was quite pleasant and my quarters in general were adequately spacious and quite clean. The bathroom was sizeable and facilitated adequate maneuverability. The WiFi seemingly worked well and they provided a very nice coffee maker, which was a big plus. The bed was comfortable and the environs were rather quiet allowing me to get good sleep. The way they did breakfast conveyed a nice homey touch. Rather than a buffet, we were served a set menu that included yogurt and fruit with bread. It was then culminated with eggs and choice of meat. I tried the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and was very pleased with my selection. The room rate was quite reasonable. My final cost with taxes was €94.50. With the exchange rate at the time, that converted to about $110 USD. This was a very good deal in my estimation. Overall, I was quite pleased with my stay here. The accommodations were great, the facility was very nice and the breakfast was more than adequate. The package was well priced. I will definitely stay here again if the occasion arises. I would heartily recommend this establishment if you need a place to stay in Deventer.

Don't have plans for the weekend, then I would suggest heading east of the Netherlands to Deventer…read more I love this little village, talk about a little gem. It's so worth the visit. I completely adore this little town. They have a wonderful historical vibe to it. Hotel Huis Vermeer is a fabulous hotel for a nice little get away. Hotel Vermeer has only 11 rooms in their special hotel, but I am sure every room is extremely exceptional. We had the pleasure of staying in the Grande Deluxe, which was originally the banker's library from the 1800. The room and bathroom was extremely spacious and exceptional. In addition, I adored the corner view of the church from the hotel.

Trendy-Hip-stylish hotel in Nijmegen. Stairs, no elevator that I was made aware of…read more Parking on street or I believe there is a parking structure nearby. Nijmegen is a very busy city. Breakfast is included- and is elegant and rich- hard boiled eggs, meat/cheese tray, bowl of breads, and coffee/juice. Would prefer to have been given choices only not to waste such great food. I find after traveling for many days I sometimes want something plain for breakfast such as oatmeal, plain scrambled eggs or simple bowl of fruit. Room was large- 2 full size closets plenty of hangers, shelf space, robe provided. Fireplace which warmed things quickly. Nice Neopresso machine in room with glasses and beautiful selection of coffees- too bad there were no directions on how to use it- so I didn;t. Big cozy towels, comfortable beds. Plenty of outlets for charging all those electronics we travel with. Bathroom is modern- big tub in room- shower/toilet glass-sexy for traveling with your companion- not so much for family travels. Staff was extremely helpful- carrying bags-checking in, finding parking and in general very attentive to those staying at the Hotel. There is an excellent restaurant on site that is packed every night so be sure to let staff know if you want to eat there. Music from the restaurant does vibrate upper sleeping rooms- so that may be something to consider when booking. Unfortunately I did not have time to see if the location was walkable to shopping, other restaurants or area attractions. Nijmegen seems to have a vibrant city with a lot happening- the restaurant was packed both nights i stayed there. This is definitely a property to stay at when visiting this part of the Netherlands- Thanks to an excellent staff!!
