Opened in 2003, Privilege revolutionised this resort, and made Buzios something of the St Tropez of…read moreBrazil with its rich offering of classy nightlife. Previously hosting Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Bad Boy Bill, Wally Lopez, Steve Angello and Nando Reis, you'll find this high roof club 100 metres from Rua das Pedras, designed by architect Helio Pellegrino and erected in a private reserve and Praia da Armação. Showcasing six rooms, two dancefloors, lounge, two tiers of boxes, terrace, four bars, pizzeria, sushi and international cuisine, this particular Privilege has positioned itself as the most sophisticated and played club in the Lakes Region. Note it only opens regularly in high season (October - March).

Very few foreigners. Pretty even guys/girls ratio. 4/5 DANCING Dancefloor was always full, but dancing amounted to little more than head-bopping. Little enthuthiasm. 2/5 PRICE Expensive. At least R$100 for guys to get in. On December 28, guy ticket prices were R$200. Each beer inside was R$13.90. 2/5 CUSTOMER SERVICE Long line to get in (~30 - 45mins around 12.30am). The entrance looks like a border patrol or passport control office, checking entrance tickets and ID is strict. On our night, we had a 30mins line to get OUT of the club (people had to individually close out their tab at the exit). Never heard of waiting to get OUT of a club. 2/5

Regarding the other reviews: yes, the service is slow sometimes but bem-vindo Brasil (welcome to…read moreBrazil). We just had our wedding at Tawa Beach (the attached private beach club) and it was absolutely amazing. We could not have been happier with the service we got from Insolito. We, along with family and several friends, all stayed at Insolito and universally loved it. The hotel has such character with each room having a unique design and artwork. Furthermore, the staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. The anticipated our needs and wants in too many ways to event list. Just one example is that when my wife and I we walking back to our room after the wedding around midnight, we saw two housekeeping staff on our balcony. Turns out they were waiting for us to leave the venue and had come to fill up the private hottub on the balcony put rose petals on the water. We didn't ask for or arrange this, it was just one of many nice touches from the hotel. Also, excluding free breakfasts, I almost never eat in a hotel restaurant, finding them to usually be over priced and under good. This was the opposite. The food was amazing and while the prices may be high for Brazil, they were very low for a global 5 star hotel. 100% would go again and recommend to anybody. The only potential issue is that if anyone has trouble with stairs (i.e. elderly or wheelchair bound) the hotel can be a bit difficult with accessibility given all the stairs. However, the staff will go out of their way to assist so its not impossible.

She said the nightclub is a beach club. This is true, but beach clubs are worse because they are open air. She also said that I was warned when booking. When I told her this was a lie, she threatened to cal the cops. Stay away
