I imagine the experience in this hotel varies greatly based on which room you get. As the previous reviewer pointed out, the rooms are all in various stages of updating/renovating. My specific room had a nice balcony, updated bathroom, but older furniture and beds. The room was a decent size, although the refrigerator under the desk made it impossible to sit at the desk and fit your legs underneath. My room also had a great air conditioner, which I understand is not standard in all rooms.
The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, happy to give advice or information on things to do in the area. Closet space in room 442 is quite good with plenty of hangers. The shutters on the windows do a pretty good job of making the room dark at all hours, important for those of us with jetlag. There's also a US outlet in the room for those who are short an electrical adapter.
Some areas for improvement are the hotel beds and especially the pillows. Beds are just okay, not particularly comfortable. But the pillows are hard as stone. The placement of the shower head (in a corner of two walls) makes it quite hard to actually be under the water, so you are required to take the handle off the holder. The motion-sensor light in the hallway was a bit annoying, as every time I moved while sitting near the desk, the light would go on. Wish there was a way to turn it off. read more
