That's a good thing because this hotel is on the edge of town and all the restaurants are at least a 15-20 minute walk or a taxi away.

There is a small bar adjacent to the restaurant. I would rather pay a bit more and be closer to some nightlife and sights.

Check in was smooth and the room was surprisingly quite nice. The amenities were on the spartan side, but got the job done. I like the walk-in shower as it's quite efficient. The work desk in the room had plenty of power outlets and USB ports. Also of importance is that the bed was quite comfortable. I had dinner in the lobby bar which had a limited menu, but was surprisingly tasty and had a number of healthy options. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and I was impressed with the quality of the buffet which was highlighted by an omelette station which gladly accommodates my request for an egg white omelette...with fresh egg whites. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I would absolutely return if I'm ever back in Koln.

Perfect if you need a place to sleep but don't intend to spend any time in your room. TV channels are limited to terrestrial German channels, no hotel movies or pay-TV. The worst let-down is the fitness room in the basement, an utter joke - not a laughing matter if you are keen on a quick workout to start the day. I have never seen gym equipment made of wood, this felt more like a DIY party cellar in my granny's house than a hotel gym. The breakfast room looked OK but not exciting enough to prevent us from looking for a more exciting option around the corner - the hotel is excellently located in a hip neighbourhood with loads of cafes and bars.

The TV in my room didn't work and when I called reception the lady sighed and told me that is "normal". Then -in a tone of voice as if she was offering me a personal favor- she offered to come to my room and " rattle the TV set a bit" because it had a lose cable. Only she never showed up. Next, the Internet access (WiFi) was interrupted and I was asked for a new password. Again the same receptionist ( she sighed again) doubted that this was the case but was " generous " enough to offer me that I could come down to the reception and show her the problem. I asked her to come to my room instead. She said she would do so after contacting the network administrator. Only she never showed up. On my way out of the hotel I told the receptionist how unsatisfactory her service was and that I needed the Internet for work. She " remembered" that she received a mail from IT with a new password four hours ago. Did she at least apologize? No she didn't. I'll never stay in this hotel again.

The receptionist was not at the hotel desk but instead sitting at the hotels adjacent bar playing on her cellphone. She checked my wife, baby and I in to the hotel. The room was on the 5th floor. The elevator doesn't go to the 5th floor only the 4th, but not even that. The elevator had a metal door to close that was not working and closing properly on the 4th floor to send the elevator back down. Then parking: the hotel has a few spaces around the corner in a lot of converted shipping containers, none marked with the hotels name or logo. The receptionist gave me a key to open the blast door of one of the containers but the one she directed me to was wrong. So there I am trying each of the doors. Finally found it. Last but not least we ordered room service. I have never had a burger burnt so badly to a crisp. Ugh. Not happy with the almost €200 bill the next day for parking, one night accommodation and terrible room service. I will say the design of the lofted room with balcony was very cool, but when I sent the hotel a message to ask for a crib in the room, some warning on the elevator being out of service would've been appreciated.

The bartender started asking me personal questions while I sat at the bar and I told him I was waiting for my husband. Yikes can't a lady get a drink alone. Obviously not here, the only plus was the drinks were inexpensive but than if you didn't spend over $20 Euros than you had to pay cash. Seems like they wanted the cash. Also more of our group arrived before we left to go to dinner. They got the same run around so it wasn't limited to me the solo American in the group. Would I ever come back here not in a million years.

We simply could not use the third room - but were, of course, fully charged. That aside, everything else appeared to be a problem, too - Loading our equipment, parking, or any kind of service: my staff and our participants could not even buy a water, let alone a coffee at any time of the day. After a short introduction when we arrived, no service was available at all - and we arrived at 10am and left at 8pm :-( Just to avoid any misunderstanding: we had 50 guests - and none of them could get anything in the entire time of the event. Checking at the reception, we were asked to go and get take-away from a bakery in the area. Sorry - simply not good enough, we will never book this hotel again, let alone recommend holding any kind of event there.

Rooms comfortable and staff helpful. Beware some rooms experience some street noise. Excellent buffet breakfast.
