To sum up; the service staff consisted mainly of young and very unexperienced and in fact just not suitable for the job. While asking for the wine card, we needed to ask at least 3 times while it was basically laying behind us on another table. The starters... Bland, tasteless, lukewarm. The main course, similar, no taste, no structure, not warm... The ordered wine never came.. When making complaints in private to the head waiter there was just a general comment of sorry, will bring to attention of the chef. Not a single attempt from the restaurant to apologies or do some sort of compensation, coffee or other (even though sitting there another half hour waiting for our taxi) A real pitty, if nothing seriously changes there please avoid having dinner there.

The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because some of the rooms do not have AC and that was not stated anywhere so I ended up in a super hot room and had a hard time sleeping. However, the rooms were nice. Also, bring bug spray as there are mosquito's on the patio during certain times of year. All in all I would stay again I would just make sure I have a room with AC. There are tons of great running and biking paths all over.

I was 99% sure so of course I went through all my bags to doublecheck and sure enough I didn't have it. Went right back to the hotel and they had cleaned the room and swore up and down they did not find it. I have not been anywhere else and there is no other explanation. When I called back to speak to the manager and explain what had happened, she was very indignant, as opposed to being helpful or offering to investigate more.. so, I would avoid this place.

They have a gym that is for use but there is consistently classes scheduled throughout the day that is not mentioned on the website or in handbook. One must first check with front desk to see what time classes are for the day so you can plan a workout around the random classes, very frustrating to go downstairs for a workout only to find you must wait until class is finished. They have a massage therapist, that doesn't take clients. Not for nothing, what kind of spa has a massage therapist that doesn't take clients? The room service is fine, but when I asked the maids to come back in 5 minutes as I was leaving for workout expecting to come back to a clean room, they conveniently decided to not come back to room and not clean it at all. Would have loved to give this 5 starts but the maids and spa took away a point each.

But what wasn't reflected in the pictures and in all the data on the website was what a wonderful host Bart was for us. Not only did Bart ensure that we had a ride from the airport to our guest house (during a pandemic). He also had the fridge stocked with food and a bit of alcohol for when we arrived! Bart did everything from grabbing us takeout meals and groceries to helping us with our first parking ticket . He bridged the language barrier with the locals for us on countless occasions. He even helped me purchase a car from a local! I can not overstate how helpful Bart was to help us make the jump into the European lifestyle. The place is awesome, Bart is amazing, you've found your Guest House.

On second night I was awoken by water dripping from above and ran to front desk at 23:00 hours. They ultimately placed me in another room after determining it was bath water from room above me. Yuck. It took a short time to pack up all my items and move but the night was ruined and I did not sleep well at all. Instead of lowering rate, they charged me the full amount for both nights. In addition, the small room they moved me to had issues with shower allowing water to leave enclosed area (bad design) and I had to use my towels to dry up water.

Only spent one night here while passing though Heerlen, so I honestly can't complain too much. As you enter the lobby, you're immediately drawn to the gorgeous copper fireplace. That was, hands-down, my favorite feature in the entire place. The hotel staff is friendly and polite -- if you need to rent any electrical adapters or send letters (within Europe only), they're more than willing to accommodate you. The lobby is also the best place for the free wifi connection -- its strength is tenuous, at best, in the bedrooms. Connected to the lobby are the bar and dining room. Both spaces are nicely decorated and more than adequate to fulfill their duties. The bar has a great selection of beers to choose from, as well. Breakfast is served in the dining room at 7am and you can always rely on a hearty breakfast menu of breads, eggs, meats, fruits, and cereals. Juice, coffee, milk, and tea are also provided. The bedroom was nicely sized to fit two single beds, a side table, a writing desk, and a chair. There was also ample space for four various pieces of luggage. The bathroom was nice. Again, a little dated, but functional and fairly spacious. The surrounding area of the hotel is also nice. Located in a residential area, you do get some traffic noise, but it's not extremely distracting. It's also a brief five-minute walk from the city center where restaurants and shops are located.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the De Limbourg Sittard for a few months this year while working…read morein Sittard. It's a classic European hotel right on the square or "Markt" of Sittard. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. It's a very large hotel but not obvious from the outside. You are literally next door to historic churches and a 10 minute walk to the train station. The owners and staff are very nice and like family. It's great to support a locally owned business here. You are steps away from everything in Sittard and if you have a car, park in the very nice underground (Interparking ODA Parking) I've reviewed recently. The daily breakfast is nice as well. I loved their coffee and croissants. But the best part was returning from work to be greeted with a smiling face to ask me how my day was. The cafes and restaurants nearby are great as well. I can't wait to return and re-visit this area on holiday.
