My sister in law got married here on 12/28/24. It is a beautiful place and perfect for a wedding or any kind of celebration. My husband and I loved our room, especially the giant bathroom. Huge shower stall and a nice big tub. The ceremony was decorated beautifully and the reception room was absolutely breathtaking. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel was still decorated for Christmas and the decor was beautiful. Everyone loved the tree in the lobby and took advantage of taking lots of pictures in front of it. Everyone had a great weekend!

We didn't stay here, but we did visit the space because we love historic venues and this hotel is full of great stories! The bar was fantastic and the staff here was friendly and willing to tell us about the history.

Need a piece of history? Feel like walking through a museum that you can spend the night in? Look no further Hotel Du Pont is your place! Greeted by a stunning lobby, ballroom and restaurant incredible preserved. Read the history of the hotel and then take a second look of the spaces and you see things in a different light. Enjoy!

I have such mixed feelings about this amazing historic hotel. On the one hand, she's such a classy old lady who has been holding her own for 100 years or so. On the other hand (as with any hotel) there is good staff and not-so-good staff. One front desk person is wearing a suit and tie and has a professional demeanor, the other a track suit, and far less professional demeanor. Evening valet guy was lovely and patient. A.M. valet guy...not so much. Bar staff was awesome and accommodating. It was Valentine's weekend and, unless you had a res, you were SOL, but they were willing to serve you a bev out in the lobby despite being fully booked and clearly running their butts off. When I got to my room after check in, I noticed water damage on the ceiling - and not just a little - then I noticed the full on dripping leak in progress. Called the front desk, and some guy answered with 'Oh, ok, let me see if I can find you another room on the same floor and I'll bring you a key.' [Awesome!] Then 30 minutes went by and when I called back to follow up the same kid answered with a patronizing 'Yeah, look, we're really busy so you're just going to have to wait unless you want to come get the keys.' [Wanker!] So I did exactly that, and was met with the same 'tude. (To be clear, this was *not* the same gentleman who checked me in - looked more like head valet for the evening?) Off-putting, and not what this hotel deserves. She is a grand dame, and deserves better representation, even when they are short staffed and all hands on deck. Find better hands! Still glad I got to see her though. No regrets.

Having our daughters wedding at the Hotel Dupont was the best decision we could have made. The DuPont is old world classic hotel that is not replicated anywhere else in Delaware. The event spaces were iconic. Each of the event venues presented their own personality and charm. We had a welcome party, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party and a brunch utilizing four unique spaces. The staff at the hotel especially Sandra could not have been more accommodating and professional. At every turn the staff was available to help in anyway they could. The food at every event was raved about from all of our guests. Jamie Christinzio, Director of Events, was my "guiding" angel. Jamie led me through every step with such ease, and her suggestions were always spot on. As far as I am concerned if you want a truly magnificent and memorable wedding, there is no other place than the Hotel DuPont. the magnificent floral arrangements were created by Fernandfeme.com, and the fabulous music was performed by The Jack Faulkner orchestra. WE WISH WE COULD DO IT AGAIN!

Four of us were looking for a 5-star hotel experience less than hour from Philly as a little overnight treat for Thanksgiving weekend. We checked in around 3, pulled up to valet and the valet guy was nice but offered no help with our bags or anything. He said he didn't have a cart at the moment and I thought it was a little odd given how quiet it was. We went to check in at the desk and the attendant gave us our room number then told us he messed up and it wasn't inspected yet so we had to hang in the lobby. I was fine with that because I was excited to sit by the fire that they have marketed on their website (photo attached). No fire- just some electric candles. We grabbed a drink on the roofbar which was vibey but they charged my sister twice for incorrect items so we had to wait 10 minutes while they fixed that and we needed to leave for a dinner Rez. The room itself was nice, but the air was not working. The four of us slept terribly because of how warm it was- honestly so disappointing. We were also told they there was a nice breakfast in the lobby with pastries and things- again, not correct. There was one pastry type (good but still misleading) and some cereal boxes with warm milk. For $450 dollars this did not land at all. Would rather spend a few hundred more and stay at Four Seasons in Philly to get a real hotel experience. I would say go ahead and grab a drink here but save your money or stay somewhere else.

To elevate the experience the staff are top notch; welcoming and accommodating. We got to the hotel at 8:40pm and were directed straight to the restaurant, so that we could order before the kitchen closed. While we feasted the staff brought our luggage to our room. It was only after we ate that we checked in to our beautiful rooms. We then went to the rooftop to grab a few drinks and relaxed on the outdoor couches. We were bummed to miss the speakeasy in the basement but can't get too upset because being outdoors on a warm summer night with a delicious cocktail is a great way to start a vacation.

We had barely…read morewalked in, and I was already counting down the minutes until I could leave and write this review. The staff were shockingly rude--especially the woman with red hair in the cafeteria, who seemed irritated by the mere existence of guests, snapping at people like we were a burden rather than paying customers. And the room? Absolutely unbelievable--in the worst way. It was so dirty it felt like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I had to drape sheets over the couches just to sit down without feeling gross, thanks to visible stains, what looked like layers of grime, and an alarming amount of dog hair--despite specifically booking a hypoallergenic room. The kitchen was practically useless, with barely any equipment to prepare even a simple meal, and to top it off, the coffee machine didn't even work. The bathroom sink was clogged and emitted a strong rotten egg smell that filled the room--it was impossible to ignore, even when trying to sleep. We're supposed to stay here for a few more days, but honestly, it feels like a nightmare I can't wake up from. I've never been so eager to check out of a place in my life.

Someone answered and said that they could. When I arrived later that day, Jeannette checked me in and gave me a great room on a higher floor with a great view of the Christina River. Jeannette later told me that she had replied to my text. Our room was perfect. It had everything that we requested starting with a king bed. The room had a small kitchen area. There was plenty of desk space and a small sofa with a computer desk. The bathroom was adequate. The view from the room was great. It was nice that we could see a high school rowing race one morning from our room. Breakfast is served downstairs. They had a pretty good offering of breakfast items. They had the usual items like scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. One of the mornings they served a smoked chicken for smoked chicken burritos. It was different and good. Along with these breakfast items, they also had coffee and juices. The gym is located on the first floor. They had sanitizing wipes to clean the machines before and after using the machines. A large screen tv was there for watching. Ellipticals and treadmills are available for you to use. It was enough for a good workout. The Homewood was a good hotel for me. Both my wife and I liked it. If in this area again, we would stay here again.

The room had a lot of things I appreciate in a hotel room and don't find everywhere. I appreciated that there were a lot of outlets for electric cords as well as charging cords. There was a coffee maker and creamer was included. The only downside was it was in a dark spot. The beds were comfortable. The A/C worked well and was adjustable. There were two trash cans-one in bathroom and one in the room including a section for re-cycling. There was a safe in a place that looked like a drawer. Everything was very clean. Parking had a cost but that was clear on the booking website. One parking floor is dedicated to the hotel and there is an elevator you can park near that takes you to the hotel lobby and is next to the regular hotel elevator which worked out well. The location was great. There is another "downtown" Doubletree but this one in the "legal district" was right downtown with easy walking to restaurants and not far from the riverwalk. They provide shuttle service that will take you and pick you up which was a nice benefit. There was plenty of good restaurants nearby. The front desk folks were generous with the cookies and we certainly enjoyed them. It's not a new hotel but was very functional for us.
