Best hotel in town. In the very center, but very calm and nice. Balanced between classical and modern.

Roomers - Breakfast buffet at Roomers, Baden-Baden

This is a higher end property and while I did not stay here, I joined my friend for breakfast and…read morehelped her pack her suitcase. So yes, I did see the room and I experienced the buffet breakfast. Breakfast is pretty darned awesome. As good as any full service hotel I've stayed at with lots of fresh baked goods, eggs to order, coffee to order, a buffet of eggs, bacon, sausages and potatoes, three varieties of smoked fish, a selection of cheeses, a selection of sliced ham/turkey, salad stuff and more. All well presented and well cared for. The room was large, comfortable and nicely laid out. The bathroom has a proper enclosed shower. Don't miss the rooftop pool and spa. The view is pretty decent. Bring a swimsuit even if the weather is cold. The hotel is expensive whether you're paying with cash or points. Expensive enough that I stayed elsewhere in Baden-Baden. We took a taxi van from Strasbourg to Baden Baden and paid an 85 euro flat rate, it was slightly over a 30 minute ride. We asked the front desk to arrange a transfer back to Strasbourg rail station which they did. I asked them what the fare would be and was advised it would be whatever the meter said but cant be more than 125 euros. The meter was set and when we arrived at the station it read 97 but he pushed a button and it went too 200 euros. I said we would not pay that and the driver threatened to call the police. I immediately called the hotel and spoke with Constantine who arranged the ride and advised him of my situation and he refused to get involved. My MIL and Aunt told me to just pay and figure it out later. I emailed the Constantine and asked him for help and he said there is nothing he can do since its a third party even though he arranged it. I then emailed the GM Marcel Heid. He offered very little assistance saying the taxi company isnt responding to them and from now on they will only use well known taxi companies and told me he would deposit 10000 Bonvoy points which we still haven't received. They set this ride up and let us be taken advantage of by the taxi company that they set up for us. My mother and I spent over 500euros for one night at this hotel - we asked Marcel to take some responsibility in this and refund us 100 euros which is what we expected to pay. He declined stating he cant be responsible for third parties and wont respond to my emails now. So we've now been scammed by the taxi company that they set up and they just wash their hands, promise 10k bonvoy points and don't even follow through with that. Be leery abut reserving this hotel.

The room was small...a bit sparse, but super clean and having a toilet & sink en suite was really handy. One small flight of stairs to the elevator, then we could take the elevator to the next floor with the suitcase. Room 25 has a double bed without dual frames, so you can attempt to sleep next to your partner, at least. It faces the church...the bells actually didn't bother me. We were out and about until about 10, so we didn't hear them at night and I slept through them until we woke up. I liked being able to see the church, the street & the old palace out the window. If you are a light sleeper or go to bed earlier, I can see it being a problem. I loved the entire property - the little TV room on the ground floor, the computer room on the 2nd floor and the wonderful porch across from the church. It was a very delightful building. The staff were all friendly and went from German to English and back again with ease. Even at breakfast when they were busy, everyone was greeted in a friendly manner and no one waited very long for their coffee, chocolate or tea. At check out, we paid for our room & parking as well as purchased discounted tickets to Friedrichsbad (2 euros savings per ticket). We were able to keep our car in the parking while we went to the spa and toured the casino. If you want to stay somewhere for under $100 per night with breakfast and easy access to all of Baden-Baden's treasures...stay here!

First off, it's literally steps from the baths as well as all of the city center restaurants and shops. And this is all before you get to your room...ours was massive, with a sitting area, king sized bed, walk in closet, gorgeous bathroom and an array of controls next to the bed. There are roll down metal shades to block all noise and light, ensuring a restful sleep. There are also complimentary bottles of wine and mineral water as well as free wifi. The staff is very friendly and eager to answer questions and provide guidance. Dropped a star because of very little parking and spotty Internet.
