The evening dinners were adequate but unremarkable. I think what we were given was what the management thought British visitors might want. It was mostly plain and unimaginative. Clean. The bed and bedding was comfortable. But be aware that Italians like their beds firm. The bathroom was up to date. It is housed in a medieval tower on a narrow medieval road, adjacent to Piazza Grande. Literally two strides and you're in Piazza Grande which is lined with antique shops, restaurants and cafes and historic buildings. The managing couple was very warm, informative and accommodating, and showed me the Eutruscan, Roman and Midevial foundations in my room. It is an ancient building and historic codes do not allow an elevator, so be aware that upper floors have stairs, but the manager will carry your cases. My room had only a few steps, and really not on the first floor, but more like a half floor up. It was quiet and I felt safe being solo female traveler. Taxi can deliver you to the door, but has to pick up at the next corner, due to one way streets. They offer a breakfast package with a restaurant across the piazza, but I opted for the cafe 3 or 4 doors down and was glad I did, as the pastry was wonderful.

Our suite, consisting of a living room/bedroom with a kitchenette and an additional bedroom, was able to accommodate all 5 of us comfortably. The location is ideal especially if you are traveling by train or by car, as Le Corniole is just steps away from Arezzo's train station and parking on the premises is free. Best yet, the residence is on the outside perimeter of Arezzo's city center, meaning that it is easily accessible by car (the city center is restricted to car traffic); however, all of Arezzo's attractions (e.g., San Francesco's church, the cathedral, etc.) are within walking distance. Room rates are quite reasonable; the host, Signor Giovanni, will go the extra mile to make sure that guests are happy. He even gave us a bottle of Chianti before we left.

My husband and I…read morestayed here for the last few nights of our honeymoon and couldn't have enjoyed a more delightful experience. From the gracious, welcoming reception staff to the clean, comfortable room and fabulous amenities, we loved our entire stay. Encompassing an organic vineyard, the picturesque grounds also provide a full spa, restaurant and pool among the grapes and olive groves. On our final day here, we were lucky to receive a private tour and tasting hosted by Simone, the on-site sommelier. While we arranged several wine tastings/tours throughout our two week Italy/Spain holiday, this was by far the most special. Intimate and informative with an unbeatable setting (cozy tasting room with intense thunderstorm as the backdrop). We bought a few bottles of the wine (rosé and chianti) at just 7 euros apiece! Out on the terrace, the buffet breakfast was better than many hotels (hellooo, crepes made-to-order!) and the spa was sheer bliss with extremely well priced services. That massage tho. Oh! Also! There are four friendly cats circling around the grounds! It's the best. I can't wait to come back.
