I had the first floor room which was huge…read morefor European standards, about 17 by 17, or more, containing a kitchenette, coffee, tea, ample closet and dresser space, all bathroom amenities. Clean. The bed and bedding was comfortable. But be aware that Italians like their beds firm. The bathroom was up to date. It is housed in a medieval tower on a narrow medieval road, adjacent to Piazza Grande. Literally two strides and you're in Piazza Grande which is lined with antique shops, restaurants and cafes and historic buildings.
The managing couple was very warm, informative and accommodating, and showed me the Eutruscan, Roman and Midevial foundations in my room. It is an ancient building and historic codes do not allow an elevator, so be aware that upper floors have stairs, but the manager will carry your cases. My room had only a few steps, and really not on the first floor, but more like a half floor up. It was quiet and I felt safe being solo female traveler. Taxi can deliver you to the door, but has to pick up at the next corner, due to one way streets.
They offer a breakfast package with a restaurant across the piazza, but I opted for the cafe 3 or 4 doors down and was glad I did, as the pastry was wonderful.
