They have an electric kettle and instant coffee in the room as well as a fridge. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a coffee before heading out for the day. They do offer parking for 10 Euros a day, and clear instructions on how to get in and out of the City without getting fined! Remember, the City center is a no drive area for non residents. Just do as the hotel indicates and you will be fine. The other recommendation is to book directly, they assured me they charge less than going through Booking or Expedia and will also discount if you pay in cash.

I told my husband I thought there were bedbugs and he thought I was crazy. I was itchy all day and had about 10 to 12 bites all over my body. The next night we were up all night. He started getting bites as well. We told the hotel in the middle of the night and they said that we must have left the window open. We let them know we did not open the window. They let us switch rooms at 4 am after being up for hours and going back and forth on them about this, but the damage was done. The next morning they apologized and said they misunderstood with the language barrier and thought that there were flying insects in the room. They told us that they would refund us for the entire stay because of the inconvenience and how grossed out we were. We showed the front desk lady our bodies covered in bites and she apologized and said she would refund the entire stay. When I got home and still had the charge I called back and they said they didn't find bugs and wouldn't refund us. No contact from them at all they just changed their mind. A simple Google search will let you know how challenging it is to see and find them. We certainly saw them AND showed the staff our bodies covered in bites. This was such a disappointing and disgusting experience. We had to go launder all our clothes in the middle of our vacation, couldn't bring our luggage into any other hotel after this, and the fact they think we would make this up when we showed them our bodies were covered in bites is appalling. Not 5 star service or cleanliness, don't stay here.

We stayed at the Alma Domus for few nights back in 2010 and promised ourselves we'd go back... We just stayed for 2 nights in mid-June 2015 and it was incredible!!! Our small group of 12 booked six of the larger remodeled rooms on the top floor with the views of the historic center and the Duomo and we were blown away!!! So location is the #1 reason to stay at The Alma Domus, just a 2-3 minute walk to Piazza del Campo... and Incredible Value is reason #2. The newly remodeled rooms and bathrooms are wonderfully appointed for a hotel in this price range!!! We had large superior triple rooms in the mid june high season for 110 euro and quad rooms for 125 euro... all with views, balconies, air-conditioning, and breakfast!!! I don't think you can find better value in Siena with this location, the charm and quaintness, and the amenities... Both the bathroom amenities(shampoo, soap, etc) and the free breakfast are very basic but fully adequate... If you can't live without your L'Occitane shampoo, and french milled soap, bring your own... Breakfast is simple but nice; juices, coffees, teas, cappuccino, espresso, croissants, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, sweet cakes, etc... The staff at the hotel was so friendly & helpful to our little group of friends and we found this hotel to be just magical... Waking up to the morning church bells just adds to the magic!!! The couple that owns this vineyard is super sweet and the staff is really excellent. Everything, and I mean everything, was fantastic. We stayed one night but I wish it was more. The "light" dinner they prepared was one of the best meals on our recent trip, all was fresh, well prepared and the wine tasting to go with it was also very good. The room was a little slice of heaven and very quite at night which was a welcome change from the city. The views were stunning, I walked the vineyard early in the morning and loved it. There are only a few hotel rooms in comparison to bigger hotels but it really does change the entire experience. At times it feels like you have the whole hotel to yourself. So peaceful and gorgeous inside. The rooms were quite big and very comfortable. Old feel with some modern touches. The only thing I would suggest to hotel is to ditch the large physical key, it is bulky to carry. It adds to the charm but isn't as practical to carry and we couldn't have a backup key so both of us had access to the room. Overall we loved it though. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Siena. You definitely feel pampered at this hotel and it's a nice serene spot if you need a break. They served us a welcome drink, choice of an aperol or campari Spritz or a glass of prosecco. Also every day after 4pm they serve coffee and tea with cookies. Such a sweet treat. The breakfast was one of the best we've had this trip! There was a selection of yogurts, pastries, and even tremezzinos. Loved our breakfast and gave us a great start to the day. We were a bit disappointed we weren't able to grab breakfast the second day as we had to catch an early am train and breakfast wasn't open yet. Rooms were beautiful, service was very helpful and friendly, views were *superb*, and the location was perfect! MUST.STAY.HERE!!! The owner of the residence texted me several hours before to welcome us and check what our arrival time would be (they usually aren't there from 11 am-3 pm), as well as to inform us to drive straight to a private parking garage "Leonardo" nearby. Once at the garage, the attendant drove us to Palazzo Borghesi and then drove himself back to the garage to park our car- super easy!! And much to our surprise, we were able to check in a few hours early!! The residence was built in the 15th century by the Borghesi family and given to the grandson and current owner, Paolo, in 1950. In 2016 he decided to rent out the rooms so that tourists could see what living in Siena was really like. Everything inside is original- including the frescos on the ceilings and walls. Two huge wooden doors (that you will use an actual metal key to open) welcome you into the residence- there is a communal living room, dining room and patio, in addition to your own room, bathroom, and terrace. We stayed in the "verde" or green room- which was gorgeous!!! The paint and the decor in the room, down to every fine detail, were so elaborate and beautiful. The view from the room was breath-taking and the panoramic terrace gave you a view of the entire city of Siena. There was no need to climb the cathedral, the Duomo; nothing beat the view from our room!! The residence was right in the heart of Siena- lots of restaurants and (meat and fruit) markets up and down the nearby streets. Our stay included 2 vouchers for breakfast at the cafe right outside the residence, called Bar 4 Cantoni. To our surprise, we were each allowed to pick ANY sandwich or party and any drink in the store that we wanted. Both the cappuccino and the mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich (on freshly toasted bread) was THE best I've ever had. At the end of our stay, the hosts thanked us graciously and even gave us a hand painted Christmas ornament as a "thank you". It was the sweetest gesture, totally unexpected but very much appreciated. We 100% will stay here on our next trip to Siena, this experience (not just a hotel room) blew us away. Very very happy with it.

The management was independent and not accomadating at all. The place was very tired and we left after one night. They charged us for two nights even though we told them it was not a room for two women traveling together. Although they agreed they would rent a an additional room for more money!! After spending 2 nights in Florence with all its city noise, hopping to Siena was just what I needed. This hotel is located up in the hill so you have a great view of the city. The sunrise from the bar was something else. With that said, if you plan to walk to the city center, good luck to you. You can do it, but not during the summer. I drove to the city on our first day and was able to find parking fairly quickly. Checkin was easy. The lady who helped us (I regrettably didn't get her name but she had short hair and worked during the morning shift) was so helpful. I made a little bit of a booboo and booked a tour leaving from Florence the next day and so I had to cancel it. She found us another company doing the same tour for the next day and took care of everything. She took care of it like a boss. She also took care of another tour we ended up booking (and got us a discount) for the next day. She definitely made the whole experience stress free. Thank you so much again. Grazie. Grazie. Grazie. The free breakfast provided was something else. They legitimately have everything. The spread was quite impressive. You also get to eat outdoors with a view of the city so that was definitely a plus. We ended up eating dinner there on our first night and had a great time. The staff were extra awesome. A complete 180 from the city folk. If you need a cab, the staff will get one for you within minutes. Our room was super spacious. The bathroom was so enormous I couldn't get over it. The outdoor seating area was a nice touch. I did spend a bit of a time walking the grounds on my own and couldn't help but oooh and ahhhh. It is seriously picturesque and makes me want to get married there. I don't even believe in marriage. BIG bathrooms!…read more There are more rooms on the property than it seems, so when you make a reservation try to request a room in the main building if you want a room with a scenic view. Otherwise, your room might not have a view of Siena. Should also mention that it is a cab ride (9-12 euro depending on time) away from the center of Siena... or you can hike/walk there although I didn't attempt it. They say it is 2km but over half up that is winding up roads to the top. They have decent lunch on the grounds as well as a restaurant for dinner (I didn't eat dinner though), large pool and "gardens" you can walk through. The staff is more than accommodating and very nice! WiFi available for a hourly or daily fee. All-in-all I would stay here again if I went to Siena. Being away from the city center was a nice change!

It wasn't amazing, but the size of the spread was pretty impressive (see my photos). There were a few hot items - scrambled eggs and also something that looked like hot dogs. Also a pancake machine. The cold items were numerous! Fruit (fresh, canned, and dried), a few different kinds of crackers, an assortment of bread/rolls (savory... pretty hard unfortunately; sweet pastries; bread and a toaster), yogurt, cereal, jams, chocolate hazelnut spread. Only downsides: - really thin walls. I could hear my neighbors talking and ear-shattering snoring, so it was hard to sleep - can't control the temperature of the room.
