When we arrived, we were shown to the room immediately after a brief introduction to the hotel and city. We were offered any advice we needed as well as access to concierge services gratis. Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

First, the staff is excellent and bend over backwards to help and provide what ever you need. I arrived via train after dark and the hotel helped get a water taxi to help pick me up at the train station. I stained a jacket somehow and the staff bent over backwards to try to remove it. They did a great job. The restaurant and the 2 bars are superb. Go to the bar that is not next to restaurant and get a specialty drink. When we were there they were offering Negronis with calvados to reflect a Salvador Dali painting that is in the Guggenheim. I want to give a shout out to Alberto at the Concierge desk who helped me numerous times, including with my stained jacket. A top notch experience.

Walking distance from everything you want in Venice. They gave us a free bottle of Bellini when we checked in. Great breakfast buffet right on the water, that was included with our room for being Marriott elite members. This has to be one of the nicest best hotels in Venice. The only somewhat downside is that because this is such a nice hotel, room service and the food options at the hotel are completely overpriced. But that's the case almost everything in Venice from what we saw. If there was some more reasonable food and beverage options at this hotel i would have given it 5 stars

I first found out about this place when I was asking for recommendations of where to stay in Venice on FB as everything seemed overpriced. This hotel came as a recommendation for a travel agent friend and it was the best hotel I stayed at while in Italy. The front desks employees (shout out to John Luca) are so helpful in assisting you on where to eat and how to get to certain places. Upon my return visit they gave me the same room that I had on my previous visit which was a thrill as I could see St Mark's square from my window. The rooms are clean and typically size for Europe. The breakfast they serve is fabulous!! And the location truly cannot be beat. Not only is Lido a fabulous alternative to Venice but Hotel Panorama is directly across from the water bus station making getting around a breeze. I would stay here again and again and recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is very clean, quiet and great value for money. All members of staff cannot do enough for you and no job is a problem. The breakfast buffet is amazing, I think the best quality and size I have ever witnessed, we were stuffed after this and it lasted all day for us! There is a lovely little roof garden here which overlooks the lagoon and St Marks square. Its amazing to sit and watch the world go by from here. I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Panorama. If staying here get the great value week pass on the vaporetto (water taxi). Also if you have time, take the mini cruise to the amazing Island of Burano, such an amazing place, the laws of this island state that all houses must be different colours

The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and tidy and well appointed if a little dated. But, that's part of the charm. It's not one of those sharp-cornered, IKEA decored, chains that turns your whole soul beige. The bathroom is tiny but convenient with everything you need. The view was AMAZING. I doubt that I will experience that view again and I'm okay with that. I've done it. You should, too. The breakfast that everyone raves about was a little disappointing. I think it's a shame that y'all have been subjected to food that makes y'all believe that a mediocre buffet of overcooked eggs and prepackaged pastries is amazing. I would like to express my deepest condolences for the loss of your palate. Be warned that you'll be paying some sort of tax at the end of your stay. It's like $5-$8 a day. Don't freak out. I'm sure you'll be fine. Be warned that there are VERY limited options for late night food. There's a bar around the corner that has sandwiches.

It was on a quiet street (the whole area is mostly quiet) and a ~7min walk to the more bustling areas of Venice. We loved it! I would recommend this property & would definitely stay here again! The staff was also super kind and helpful (directions, recommendations, etc). Some other tips: From the airport we took a water taxi for 15€ each and it took 45 min to get the S'Angelo stop which was then a ~7 minute walk to the lobby! Be mindful there are stairs you must walk up & down (like in most of Venice). You can also get to the Santa Lucia train station from the S'Angelo stop in about 35 minutes! Take the 1 line towards Rialto. ask if you need help at the stop, captains were very friendly! Overall, during our 3 day stay we walked pretty much everywhere! I would 100% recommend this property and hope to come again!!

We did not have the apartment that everyone else has raved about. We got a cramped room on the first floor that smelled strongly of mildew. Our allergies were out of control. The room had a large bed and a tiny desk with a mini fridge hidden inside. The fridge would get incredibly hot in that tiny cabinet. There was no where to put our luggage, as the top of the desk was barely big enough to support the carry on. We were able to check in early, and went out to grab a snack. When we came back, maybe an hour later, the maid had been in our room and opened the windows. Besides being a safety concern, this let in a swarm of mosquitos that we battled for our entire stay. Each time we left, the AC would turn completely off and we would come back to a hot box swamp. I'm adding a star for the breakfast, which was out of this world. By far, it was the best breakfast we had in Italy, with countless options.

It's official! My favorite city so far in Italy was Venice! Despite all the horror stories about…read morethe flooding, I was happy to still have the chance to visit this city while I was in Italy. During my recent stay in Venice, I reserved the Hotel Abbazia as it was one of the best locations near the Santa Lucia Railway Station. Literally, the hotel was 700 ft from the station, down an alleyway as I passed several restaurants; you can't beat the convenience and the price! For a budget hotel, this was a simple and decent stay--the room offers a small flat-screen TV, iron board and hairdryer, mini-refrigerator and air conditioner, and a hard ol' mattress queen bed, not the most comfortable bed but it was doable for the time that I spent there. The only thing it didn't offer was a damn elevator; BOO! Good thing for friends because my homegirl and her boyfriend were able to take my heavy ass suitcase up to the second floor or else a sista' would have been struggling! The hallways to the bedrooms were this sexy red lighting that automatically came on when it sensed any movement. I liked it but I sensed that my friends thought it was pretty creepy. The hotel offers a beautiful elegant dining/bar area with a gorgeous chandelier. This is also where free breakfast is served in the morning. I hear breakfast offered an array of different pastries and fruit. If you have time to eat breakfast, I would give it a shot. Make sure you also check out the back-garden seating area. It's perfect for enjoying your breakfast in the morning or coming out to get some fresh air. The staff during the evening was nice, however, I felt that the gentleman became irritated with me as the bedroom door had slammed shut on me as I was walking my friends out of my bedroom, and it just so happened that I had left my keys in the room. Also, just like similar hotels in Italy, the air conditioners turn off after a certain time, making these rooms stuffy. The only option I had was to open the window; UGH. The rooms are quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. The bathroom was super small, and the showers were not the best. The water temperature only provided cold water; BOO! You can tell the facility is a little outdated and needs some TLC. Within the area alone, there are varies different restaurants. Once you walk out of the hotel, you are right in front of all the activities. You can take a Water Boat to any side of Venice, or you can do what I did and just walk the whole City as its pretty doable to do in 8 hours. There are also bars all throughout the area, making for a great night. If you are looking for more of a convenient hotel near the station and close to many of the landmarks in Venice, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying for less than 2 nights. P.S-If you are planning to leave your luggage at this hotel as you roam the Venice area, please note that this hotel doesn't lock the door to the luggage room. Make sure you take your valuables with you.
