Kameha Grand Zürich - Bar Area at Kameha Grand Zürich

Very disappointing stay at the Kameha Grand during the Zurich portion of our trip this summer…read more Garage close by, so parking is easy. Staff was nice, but not overly helpful for travelers trying to figure out things like the local train schedule. Train station closer-by, easy walk. Rooms were just OK. Cutesy little safe handles on all the doors. Not located in the best part of the city, but safe. Our main criticism of the hotel (like the review of the restaurant there) is that they allow smoking in the building. We get it, in Europe smoking is much more of a thing than in the U.S., but the Kameha Grand was the only hotel we visited in two weeks that allowed smoking indoors. The hotel would claim "it's only a section in the restaurant." That may well be, but it's like the early attempts to segregate non-smokers in U.S. restaurants into a different section, no walls, no fans, no filtration system, just a separate area. That's the Kameha Grand. Apparently management is obvious to the spread of cigarette smoke throughout the building. It smelled like a casino with no ventilation. For the price, you have to do better than that. If you're a heavy smoker, Kameha Grand is your kind of place. For a non-smoker, we cannot recommend you stay there.

Ibis Hotels are a staple of travel for my mom and I when we visit Europe…read more They're always very inviting, clean and comfortable. They are an affordable alternative to brands like Marriott or Hilton, which tend to be more across the pond. They aren't glamorous rooms, but they're exactly what we need; a bed, a toilet and a shower. They're about the size of a college dorm, but it's plenty of space for a 3-4 night stay. I'm definitely loyal to the brand! This location in Zurich was only two stops from the airport by Tram. The team was only a block away, with the tracks visible from the lobby entrance. Most Ibis locations have a Continental breakfast and a small selection of vending machines. Give them a try! You'll be impressed with the quality for your buck! ...or Euro?

Save yourself time, money, and aggravation and look for lodging elsewhere. There is a complete lack…read moreof adequate management at the premises and the information about an airport shuttle is misleading. Be aware: there is no airport shuttle and the hotel admits that it stopped doing business with the shuttle service in 2022 and hotel front staff acknowledges that the hotel is aware of the inaccurate information. The restaurant is poorly staffed and missing even the basic details of service. Food is delivered without setups, napkins, water, etc. Attempts to get them delivered were patiently made but ultimately, we had to leave the table twice; once to get water and again to hunt down napkins. There is no real value here. Don't let the relatively modest room rate lure you in. There are better run hotels elsewhere. This place runs like a mill with little regard to the customer experience. Zurich is too nice a place to have the experience tarnished by spending a night at Ibis. Word to the wise and seasoned travelers : book elsewhere. Even a few dollars more will be worth it. This place is a mess. There's better choices for lodging in Zurich.

The room was very clean. The shower pressure was good but the bathroom was small. They provided a full set of shampoo and conditioner. Slippers are provided upon request at the front desk. There was only one person working at the front desk, no porter that I noticed. My room faced the main street where there was a bus station. There were loud (drunk??) people there throughout the night which kept waking me up. The bed is by the window so I didn't hear hallway noise, just loud street noise and bus stop people noises. The rooms really could use some double paned glass. Probably if you're facing the other side it would be fine. The included dinner we had at the hotel was mediocre but edible. I thought it was odd they had the rosti (hash brown) as part of a course dinner. The broccoli was cooked to mushy texture. The servers were very nice. Breakfast was better than dinner. Location wise if you have a car or you're on a tour it's probably fine, but it's not a convenient location. It's far from old town, tourist sites, and restaurants/shopping. There's nothing nearby other than a grocery store. If you're planning to explore the city on your own, this would not be a good place to stay.

It was a nice spot with a cafe downstairs and a grocery store across the street. It is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city center, but also just a quick train ride into the city center via the Oerlikon station nearby. The property and rooms were very clean and well maintained. The price is right, especially for Zurich which can be SO expensive for lodging. It was nothing to write home about in terms of fanciness or proximity to a lot of attractions, but definitely good for a nice, clean place to stay in Zurich for a low price!
