Hotel Pigalle - A berry sauce was at the chefs station and I was tempted to try it, just because it looked so delicious, but I paced myself. lol

I loved all the food and we each had about 3 small plates to share and or try. We didn't make reservations and were lucky to get a table, because a large party had just finished and cleared up. I think reservations would be best.

Situated in the heart of Göteborg just a few mins walk from the train station, everything is within reach. For only a few bucks more, we opted for the 'Classic' room which affords a bit more room and includes a delightful nook for lounging. PROS: Breakfast: one of the greatest breakfast buffets you will ever indulge in...plus rooftop patio seating seals the deal! Fragrance: piped in scent helps make the experience unique Shower: greatest water pressure I've ever experienced at a hotel via rain shower head Motion sensor doors: frictionless movement Dimmer lights: sparking intimate evening shenanigans Molton Brown bath products: delicious Slow roll toilet lid: sometimes it's the little things Key deposit: hate keys in your pocket...not to worry, just drop at the front desk for safe keeping Restaurant/bar: perfect spot for a nightcap which includes a whiskey & tequila cart for deeper dives into the spirits CONS: Sewer smell: funky smells occasionally wafted into our room from down below

When we arrived the front desk said our Superior suite wasn't ready & offered to take our bags if we wanted to go walk around. We had just traveled all the way from California so I asked if she could just give us any room that was ready so we could shower and change before our dinner reservations. I told her we would take even a standard room. She immediately checked us into an executive suite. The room overlooked the central station and met our needs. We stayed here again toward the end of our stay and this time we got the Superior suite overlooking the lounge. Both rooms had their own charm but if you're a light sleeper I recommend getting a room that faces the inside atrium of the hotel not the street. I slept great in both rooms. Our favorite part about this hotel apart from the decor, great staff and location was the breakfasts. We fell in love with Gothenburg and I believe this hotel played a part in that. When visiting Scandinavia I will try to book stays in Radisssons when possible.

I arrived at 0930 after several long flights from the States. They were quite accommodating while they prepared my room. I was able to check in at 1100. There are several pictures of the updated rooms already on Yelp. The picture I posted is the view from my room. Odd numbered rooms have an interior view, while even numbered rooms have an outside view of Gothenburg. When you check in, make sure you let them know if you have a preference. The gym is small, but the equipment is new and very high tech. For example, the weightlifting equipment has a display that shows you the proper speed for your lifting cycle. There is also a full service Spa onsite as well There are two restaurants on-site, the Atrium and Noot Nordic Kitchen. The included breakfast is nothing less than astonishing. It puts cruise ships to shame. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and the main train station is just across the street, as is the expansive Nordstan shopping mall.

We loved the beautiful lobby with the fluorescent lighting behind the crystal reception desk and the modern design of the entrance hall. The modern edgy design with bold dark colors mixed with vibrant metals is a theme throughout the hotel and created a cohesive ambiance. Our checkin (as well as checkout) was easy and everyone we interacted with was pleasant. Our room was comfortable with soft clean linens and floofy pillows. The bathroom was updated with modern tile and a nice shower and separate tub. We stayed plenty warm on this very cold February night and were very pleased with the room in general. The stunning rooftop heated pool was open even though we were there in February and it was pretty warm except for the chilling wind that finally drove us out and into the comfort of our heated shower in our room. The food here was something else. We enjoyed the massive breakfast buffet as well as our dinner at their restaurant Norda. The quality of ingredients as well as the presentations were memorable. In recap we had a great experience here and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Gothenburg.

Nice, no frills room with a very comfortable king sized (I think) bed. Pillows, covers and sheets were superb -- 5 stars. We slept very well. Bathroom had an interesting solution: if you happened not to close the 2 doors while on/in the toilet and someone knocked on the room door... Hahaa... well... the world is an oyster. The husband in the bathroom, the family at the door, I'm in between. 10 stars forever! Breakfast was great. Anything you'd expect from a luxury breakfast was presented: fresh scramble eggs, meats, pancakes, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, GF, breads, etc. And the pièce de résistance was seeing my friend Alexander Klingspor's beautiful paintings in the dining room and lobby. However, I was nicely surprised that the hotel lounge, reception and breakfast area was modern and tidy. We were able to check in quickly without any fuss. Unfortunately our room was tiny. I knew I had booked quite a small room at the time of booking but the room was so small. The room was clean and modern, we had a TV but sometimes it lost signal and the bathroom was like a pod and also very small. Whilst some people might be really bothered about the size of the room, I didn't actually mind it. After all, I was only there to rest for an hour before going out to dinner and to sleep at night. Everything else was pleasant. The breakfasts were good. It was mainly continental breakfast but had some warm scrambled egg and bacon. There was choice of rolls and bread, jam and marmalade, boiled eggs, cheeses and ham. There was also teas, coffee and juices as well as cereal. Breakfasts were included in our room price. Overall a good experience and no real complaints. I'm not a particularly fussy person and I'd recommend this hotel to friends.

Breakfast at the lounge was substantial. We loved every dish we tried as well as the buffet. We also visited the lounge a couple of times in the evening for a drink. Staff is so nice and really made our stay memorable. The location is very good too, with the tram right outside the hotel. If in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink (NA) and snack. We were able to sit at a comfortable chair and bistro table and enjoy our snack and drink while we were checked in. It felt more like a lounge than a hotel check-in. The spa has 3 styles of pools - jetted, soaking, and a floating outdoor "champagne" pool, sauna, relaxation chairs, steam room, hammam, cold plunge. It was the ultimate relaxation. Tips: Take advantage of the spa and reserve your time at the spa ahead of time if it's a busy travel season. Have a drink at the lounge and chat with the bartender.

The room I had faced Drottningtorget and I was a bit afraid that it would be noisy because of the streetcars outside, but it didn't affect me at all. The room was very clean and fresh, so was the bathroom and shower. My only complaint would be that the iron was really lousy (leaked water but not warm enough) so it was really problematic to iron my shirt for the next day. I am glad I ironed the night before so it could dry over night! :) The breakfast buffet was a classical Swedish one, that was totally fine, but definitely nothing to write home about. The food was fresh but e.g. the cheeses were bland in their taste, the yoghurts were all of a similar taste. There were many products to chose from but the real variation in flavors was small. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
