During an extended trip in Guadalajara, I started to look at options based on price and location. Guadalajara has so many different options when it comes to housing.
After staying at a historic boutique hotel, I wanted to stay somewhere more modern and with a gym. Hotel Antre met those requirements. The hotel is clean, modern, and well staffed. There is a restaurant onsite that opens at 7am. A separate bar / lounge that opens at 5pm. As well as a gym. They offer dry cleaning and room service.
The location is one block away from Av Chapultepec Sur which is a busy street filled with Restaurant and Bars. The popular neighborhood, Colonia Americana is a short walking distance away. The gentrified area is a hipster haven, filled with coffee shops, cafes, and beautiful colonial homes that have been repurposed into boutique hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
The Templo Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento, which is a beautiful church is a 13 minute walk from the hotel. You'll have to take an Uber or Taxi to visit the famous Guadalajara Cathedral and town center, which is a 20 minute ride. The old neighborhood of Tlaquepaque is also 30 minutes away. Its filled with cobble stone streets, boutique shops, restaurants, and bars. Lots of art and entertainment in the area.
If you're around on Sunday, they close off the main streets in the morning for cycling, running, and walking. Lots of people are out in the streets for the unique experience. You can watch the crowd from the comfort of your balcony. Or lace up your shoes and participate in the action. read more
