If you are in Querétaro, you really don't want to stay in your hotel and hang out watching TV. So,yes, go ahead and stay here. But if you do, don't be a whiner. They are in a serious need for renovation. And they need to invest in a whole new set of towels, for the whole building. You have never seen towels this bad unless you live in jail. I bought a couple of ones at a department store, cheap and new! If you can get past that and other things (pretty much everything aesthetic), you will save money and enjoy their restaurant as well as location. The employees as not as bad as people say. Just don't be an ugly tourist, show some humility and tip heavily. You are saving a lot of money anyway. If you want better, go to hotel Mirabel. Pay more.
The restaurant is decent and old school (waiters in uniform, etc.) no cuisine awards to be won, but it's economical and hygienic. Don't expect the coffee to be good....actually, that goes for %80 of México, unless you are in the coast and places like Xalapa, Coatepec, tampico, etc. I gave it four stars because of the value and location. Trust me, being in Querétaro (and many other Spanish colonial towns) it's like being in NYC. You get the crappiest hotel and "go to town", enjoy the sights and sounds. read more
